Description

New Active Electronics

Second-generation Earthworks microphones now draw phantom power current down to just 6mA, improving performance with any device, including transformer-based preamps and splitters.

It also has additional protection built in against accidental hot-swapping. Connecting a microphone with phantom power on can cause damaging spikes in microphones, preamps, and other equipment. However, in modern recording, streaming, and live performance workflows, where time is limited and phantom power is often on when a session file is loaded, hot-plugging can be difficult to avoid.

Second-generation Earthworks microphones have been enhanced to handle power beyond what you'd find in the largest tour consoles and stage boxes.

The Earthworks SR25 cymbal microphone is used by top engineers on global tours and recordings, and can be heard on a wide variety of tracks. It has become a staple for drum cymbals, hi-hat, and overhead microphones at top studio sessions and festivals. The second generation builds on that success, improving every aspect of usability and performance. It's ideal for use as a stereo pair or as a single microphone to capture hi-hats and other specific cymbals.

Incredible SPL handling and tour-ready design: The SR25's wide sweet spot makes it ideal for capturing hi-hats and cymbals. Its impressive 145dB SPL ensures attacks don't distort or overload.

It captures the detail of a condenser microphone while offering the ease of use of a dynamic microphone, making it ideal for streaming, video recording, and working in a studio environment.
