The Aquilar Elite S features a traditional and simple look and an HH pickup arrangement.

In the Mayones guitar lineup, the "Aquilar" is a traditional style model that follows on from the "Legend" model.It has a look that carries on the tradition of good old instruments, and is a particularly orthodox and well-balanced model with all-around characteristics, even among the Mayones lineup, which is designed for use in all genres.
While it has a traditional, standard instrument feel, it also retains the essence of the Mayones, with a tight, clear sound with excellent pitch and a well-defined edge even in distortion, ensuring the Mayones sound is still alive and well.

This "Aquilar Elite" features a 4A grade quilted maple body top, swamp ash TEW (Tonally Enhanced Wood), wenge neck, and ebony fingerboard. All of the wood used in the key areas that determine the instrument's sound quality is hard, resulting in excellent attack response and a very clear, tight sound.

The "TEW (Tonally Enhanced Wood)" used for the body back is the same as so-called thermowood. In order to further bring out the wood's excellent durability and stability, as well as its inherent tonal characteristics, it is processed to artificially age under strict control of pressure, humidity, and temperature, producing a natural tone that resonates throughout the body, a characteristic of thermowood.

To meet the needs of the modern music scene, Mayones' signature models feature laminated necks made from a combination of several types of wood, which increases the rigidity of the neck and produces a tight, responsive, and clear sound.However, the "Aquilar" model is the only one in the current Mayones guitar lineup to feature a one-piece neck, and it features a neck that evokes the familiar feel of a traditional, classic instrument.

The pickups are "Lollar Imperial Low Wind" in an HH configuration. Based on the low-power pickups of vintage PAFs, these pickups are characterized by their low gain and bright tone. They also have excellent definition, creating a sound that stands out in an ensemble.

The bridge and pegs are equipped with Gotoh bridge and locking tuners, a globally acclaimed manufacturer used by many top brands.These parts have been selected to ensure stable tuning, stable functionality of each component, and easy string changes with the locking pegs, ensuring that the player will not experience any stress other than playing.

The controls are a 5-way pickup selector with a master volume and tone knob. The half-tone position of the 5-way pickup selector coil-tap each pickup in the mixed state, and the neck and bridge half-tone positions have different coil-tap patterns when mixed, allowing for a variety of sounds.
The volume pot also incorporates a high-pass filter called "Mayones Treble Bleed Mod" that compensates for the high-frequency drop that occurs when the volume is turned down, making it a simple yet functional control.

Mayones products are basically made to order only, so there are few in stock in Japan and the next shipment is undecided.
