The Live Custom Hybrid Oak is a model that further improves the performance of the Live Custom, which was released in 2013.
To further enhance the bass range, a sound quality unique to oak, the new model adopts the "hybrid shell structure" concept inherited from the flagship model, the PHX, enhancing the power and sharp attack in the bass range. The shell finish is also the first to use the traditional Japanese wood processing method, "Uzukuri," which accentuates the grain of the oak, resulting in a unique and luxurious finish.
This model has evolved in both sound and looks, and is part of a lineup that delivers even better performance in live environments, providing strong support for drummers.

Oak/Phenolic Sheet Hybrid Shell: The Live Custom Hybrid Oak features the hybrid shell structure inherited from the flagship "PHX" and "Absolute Hybrid Maple" models. A high-density "phenolic sheet" is placed in the center core of the shell, sandwiched between oak on both sides. The Live Custom Hybrid Oak snare drum features a 7-ply, 7.3mm thick shell with a 45°, 1.5-radius bearing edge. The thick oak shell and hybrid shell structure enhance the sharp attack and power inherent in oak's low frequencies.

■"UZUKURI" Finish
This shell finish is made using the traditional Japanese wood processing technique of "Uzukuri." Before painting the shell, only the soft parts of the wood grain are scraped away to create an uneven surface, and only the recessed parts are painted with black paint, making the raised parts appear to stand out. This luxurious woodwork and paint finish highlights the beautiful grain unique to oak.

■Dark Silver Finish / Black Interior Paint The lugs, hoops, and other hardware are finished in dark silver. The interior of the shell is painted black for a bold look.

■2.3mm Dyna Hoop The thick steel hoop tightens the sound and brings out a sharp response.

The Q-type strainer provides stable on/off operation and high operability. It also makes it easy to change the snare and adjust it while playing.

■Absolute Lug: Uses an Absolute Lug that does not inhibit the vibration of the shell and transmits the resonance of the striking surface without any loss.
