Kirk Hammett KH-3 SPIDER 30th Anniversary Edition

In 1991, Metallica's Kirk Hammett approached ESP with a request for a new guitar with a single cutaway design that retained the characteristics of the KH-2. The KH-3 was born. Metallica's graphic artist, Pushead, designed the spider graphic for the KH-3. The KH-3 was played by Kirk on the tour supporting the legendary Black Album in the 1990s.

The original KH-3, which had been on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio for many years, was returned to ESP and became the basis for this 30th anniversary model. The ESP and LTD Kirk Hammett Signature Series 30th Anniversary KH-3 Spider is a reissue of the original KH-3 model with several upgrades.

Like the original, the guitar features a neck-through construction and spider and skull inlays. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. Frets 17-24 feature the scalloped finish seen on recent Kirk models. Both models are also equipped with Kirk's signature EMG Bonebreaker pickups.
