Description

V.Bach TR-400 SP Bb Trumpet

Vincent Bach
Vincent Schrotenbach was born in Vienna in 1890 and began playing the trumpet, attracted by its magnificent sound.
Vincent was also technically gifted, earning a degree in mechanical engineering, but chose to pursue a career as a musician rather than a promising engineering career.
Under the English stage name "Vincent Buck," he gave recitals throughout Europe and gained fame as an outstanding soloist.

He moved to the United States at the start of World War I, where he served as first trumpet player for the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and also performed in the American premieres of Stravinsky's The Firebird and Petrushka.
As he continued his performance career, Vincent became keenly aware of the importance of mouthpieces and developed a passion for creating high-quality mouthpieces. He built a workshop behind the Selmer Music Store in New York and began modifying and creating mouthpieces, devoting himself to research.

In 1918, Bach began making mouthpieces in earnest, and the first Bach trumpet was born in 1924.
Performers have described it as a true Stradivarius of trumpet.
The Bach Stradivarius model was born.

Then, in 1961, when Vincent turned 70, he turned down numerous high-paying offers in order to pass on his concept to future generations and entrusted the Bach factory to Selmer USA (now Conn-Selmer), with whom he had a long-standing relationship.
Until his death in 1976, Vincent remained closely involved in Bach's instrument design and manufacturing, leaving behind thousands of detailed blueprints and manuals for the instruments he wanted to create in the future.
To this day, Bach continues to be loved by players all over the world as the finest brass instruments.

TR-400 (TR400) / Japan-only specification Inheriting the design of the top-of-the-line Bach Strad, this model boasts a solid sound and ease of playing that will satisfy even advanced players, making it a noteworthy model that stands out from the rest in its class.
