■LARGE DUAL-DIAPHRAGM CONDENSER MODELING MICROPHONE
The Edge Duo is a large dual-diaphragm condenser microphone equipped with Antelope Audio's cutting-edge Modeling Engine technology, allowing you to own 18 timeless classics all in one.
The Edge Duo is a large, dual-diaphragm condenser modeling microphone with switchable polar patterns that delivers clean, natural recordings with any interface or preamp. This microphone is designed with artists and engineers in mind who need a single solution for many situations and applications. In addition to high-performance hardware, Antelope Audio developed a proprietary Modeling Engine to add advanced tone shaping to the microphone's own sound. With 18 microphone emulations, this microphone is an extremely versatile and effective recording tool. It's ideal for home and professional studio recording, covering vocals, acoustic instruments, guitar and bass cabinets, drums, and percussion.
- Large-diameter condenser microphone for high-resolution audio
- 18 classic mic emulations with incredible tone-shaping capabilities
- Dual diaphragm (multiple polar patterns)
- User-friendly software designed for speed and efficiency
■One excellent independent microphone
The Edge Duo was designed to deliver exceptional performance without emulation. It features low self-noise, high SPL, and two 6-micron gold-sputtered diaphragms. Combined with a low-resonance body and low-reflection head basket, it delivers ultra-fast transients, a flat frequency response, and exceptional dynamic range, resulting in a high-performance microphone for clean, natural-sounding recordings. In contrast to microphones that only offer cardioids, the Edge Duo offers a choice of omnidirectional, cardioid, figure-eight, and everything in between.
■A wide variety of tone shaping emulations
The Edge Duo microphone locker features 18 emulations of recording's most popular microphones, in addition to the original sound. Like Edge Solo, it features classic dynamic and condenser microphones, but with the addition of legendary ribbon microphones. To develop these emulations, Antelope Audio collaborated with several renowned European facilities to rigorously measure and test multiple meticulously preserved vintage microphones as well as modern high-end microphones. This updated library provides the sonic diversity you need to suit any voice or instrument, whether at home or in the studio.
■A new vision for the recording experience
The goal of the Edge Duo, and every other modeling microphone in Antelope Audio's portfolio, is not just to offer a variety of sonically versatile emulations in one body.
Expand your recording capabilities with features not available in traditional microphones. The Modeling Engine improves your workflow by allowing you to switch microphone emulations with a single click during recording and post-production. The dual-diaphragm design further complements this by allowing you to change polarity at any stage of production. When paired with an Antelope Audio interface, you can benefit from imperceptible latency while choosing the mic emulation that's best for the task while tracking. You can also record without modeling and modify the sound later with native emulation plug-ins*. This means it's compatible with any DAW or interface.
Duo connects to the interface's two XLR inputs via a dedicated Y-cable, delivering a unique, multi-dimensional sound.
*iLok 2 or 3 required to use the emulations as native plug-ins in your DAW.
