Description

A 1965 Tone Bender. Beautiful creamy early tone.

The Manlay Sound Ronno Bender is an excellent replica of the Sola Sound Tone Bender MK1. The Tone Bender MK1 is famously used by Jeff Beck of the Yardbirds and Pete Towngent of The Who. It's also notable for its use by Mick Ronson of The Spiders From Mars, who helped shape David Bowie's sound during his Ziggy days (this unit is named after Ronson's nickname, Ronno).

The Ronno Bender is based on germanium transistors and perfectly reproduces a warm fuzz sound with a distinctive midrange and a sense of compression.

- Distorted sound that brings out individual notes even when playing chords - Smooth note decay and response to guitar volume - Excellent combination with a wah pedal - Thick, gorgeous, long sustain

Starting with the March 2018 production model, it is now possible to use an AC adapter (9V, center positive) in addition to battery operation. However, there are some important points to note, such as not being able to use standard BOSS-type 9V center-negative AC adapters, and absolutely forbidden to use daisy-chain connections using branched DC cables.
