Description
For over seven years, the Bettermaker Mastering Limiter has been a staple hardware limiter, a staple in the industry as a must-have tool for Grammy-winning engineers. It's been part of the signature sounds of era-defining Billboard hits and the final link in the mastering chain for the world's biggest artists. Completely redesigned after countless hours in the Bettermaker labs, Mastering Limiter 2.0 is the next step. Featuring a completely redesigned control screen and plug-in, presets from pro audio legends, and a host of new mastering features, Mastering Limiter 2.0 is the ultimate tool for adding the final touches to your music—better, more powerful, and more intuitive.
■New features of Mastering Limiter 2.0 ◎ Improved limiter engine ◎ New GUI and DAW plug-in ◎ New high-contrast screen with improved visibility from a wide range of angles ◎ Limiter gain reduction range (limiting amount of gain reduction)
Input/output level link control (adjusts limiting amount appropriately)
◎ New color section, including MS matrix color function ◎ Sidechain limiter in conjunction with HPF or high frequency emphasis ◎ New clipper section ◎ Wider release time, including faster recovery than in 1.0 ◎ Improved metering (input and output can be viewed simultaneously)
Newly expanded color section Stable THD vs. FREQ
Low noise floor Flat frequency response
Although the Mastering Limiter 2.0 is an analog hardware limiter, all of its operation and control is performed in the digital domain. This unparalleled specification opens up unprecedented possibilities.
Save, recall, and preset status. Instant reset of all parameters. Fast, precise, and continuous adjustments. Accurate stereo linking for single-touch stereo control. DAW automation support. Comprehensive metering with high-precision ADC and DSP.
■Main features of Mastering Limiter 2.0 There are three functions that are essential for a limiter to create a perfect master, all of which can be called up by the plug-in, which handles internal memory and automation.
1. Analog Mastering Limiter 100% analog signal path Intelligent, manual or BPM-synced release settings Continuously variable mix between limiting and clipping Newly designed clipper section includes two independent clipper sections and trim function Flexible link mode maintains constant input/output level difference
2. COLOR to give the mix a special flavor
Newly designed color section compatible with MS matrix Two color modules with different saturations that can be used simultaneously Color 1, which is dominated by odd harmonics
・Color 2, which is dominated by even harmonics
Both color sections can be EQ'd internally, for example to make the bass sound more bitey by emphasizing odd harmonics, or the treble sound sweeter by emphasizing even harmonics.
3. Meter function
Think of Mastering Limiter as a touch-controlled metering device with Limiter control added to your studio. The touchscreen displays the following meters and statistics:
Input/Output and Reduction Analog-style meters (VU, PPM, RMS, Peak with peak hold functionality)
・LUFS (Short term, Integral, Loudness Range, view in time)
・K metering
30-band FFT analyzer, goniometer, phase meter, two-point measurement, limiter/plug-in output
■DAW Integration
Mastering Limiter communicates directly with your DAW via a USB connection. It appears as an HID device on your PC/MAC and can be controlled and managed from the Bettermaker Mastering Limiter plug-in.
