SSL Connex develops products for recording studios and broadcast stations around the world.
This USB microphone delivers professional studio-quality sound and is developed and manufactured by Solid State Logic (SSL), a global manufacturer of mixing consoles and audio tools for music and audio professionals in the UK.
Equipped with a high-quality, high-precision quad microphone array, and sound processing based on SSL EQ and dynamics, it delivers studio-quality sound.
Four user modes deliver the best sound for any occasion, including web broadcasting, online meetings, and recording vocals and instruments.

■ Automix function: This function automatically adjusts the levels of multiple audio sources, converts them to stereo (or dual mono) and outputs them. SSL CONNEX activates the automix function according to each mode.
*SSL CONNEX does not have the usual loopback function (a function that loops the sound from the connected device to the interface's INPUT).
■Audio Processing Mode
SSL Connex is designed to accommodate a wide range of applications.
Four optimized audio processing modes are available to choose from via the device's setup menu.
■Vocal mode (vocal recording, singing and playing, narration recording, etc.)
- Designed to pick up sound sources from the front of the unit, such as the voice of a person singing.
In this mode, all four microphone capsules are used and mixed down to a stereo signal focused at the front of the unit.
- Records at a louder volume than in Solo mode, reducing sound from the sides and back of the CONNEX to ensure your voice is captured accurately.
- The microphone's internal audio processing is optimized for relatively quiet sound sources.
■Music mode (band recording, acoustic live, session)
This mode is designed for a group of musicians positioned around the CONNEX. It is designed to pick up large sound sources such as musical instruments.
Reduces the noise floor and unwanted background sound in recordings and live streams. This mode uses all four microphone capsules, mixed down to a stereo signal centered at the front of the unit.
- The microphone's internal audio processing is optimized for louder music sources.
■Solo mode (solo video streaming, web conferencing, podcasting, etc.)
- Use this when you want to pick up a single sound source from the front of the unit, such as during a conference call or podcasting.
- In this mode, only the front microphone capsule is used.
- Optimized for sound coming from the front, reducing unwanted sound from the rear and sides.
- The microphone's internal audio processing is optimized for speech.
■ Group mode (multiple online meetings, roundtables, live streaming with multiple presenters, etc.)
- Designed to pick up multiple sound sources in a space, such as when broadcasting a roundtable discussion over a video conferencing system.
- All four microphone capsules are used and mixed to a mono signal.
- The microphone's internal audio processing is optimized for speeches, ensuring all presenters' voices are heard clearly and reducing unwanted background noise.
Solo and Group modes are intended for simple meetings/podcasting with little setup required.
Vocal and Music modes are for advanced users who want to record into their DAW and do their own processing later.
