The Super Distortion is a pickup that can be called a revolution in the pickup world.
In the early '70s, revolutionary pickups like the Super Distortion didn't exist.
The Super Distortion (and its 4-conductor version, the Dual Sound) was the first pickup specifically designed to kick a tube amp into total overdrive, and is still the standard by which all high-output pickups are measured.
It's the perfect blend of power and sound, delivering a balanced sound whether you're playing single notes or chords. Boosted mids, deep bass, and fat highs... everything is thick and balanced.
This sound has been captured on gold records over the past 30 years by guitarists including Ace Frehley, Al Di Meola, and Paul Gilbert.
The 4-conductor cable allows for split mode, serial mode, and parallel mode for a Stratocaster-like sound.
