Description
Description
Simple and versatile, EAE's signature drive delivers a powerful blow.
The Longsword is EAE's debut and highly acclaimed drive pedal, and is the brand's signature pedal.
By adding a twist to the standard design using operational amplifiers, the output sound is fully tuned with EAE's outstanding sense.
Equipped with a wide gain range from clean boost to massive distortion.
The combination of bass/treble shelving filters and frequency-selectable active mid-boost/cut provides tonal flexibility at any setting, ensuring commanding presence even in dense mixes and band ensembles.
It goes well not only with guitar, but also with baritone and bass.
Additionally, a powerful boost section is placed before the drive circuit, kicking up the signal and accelerating the adrenaline rush.
Overview
Longsword is one of EAE's earliest line-up, originally released in 2015.
It was designed to fill an element that owner John Snyder felt was missing from his guitar setup at the time, but ultimately became a practical distortion pedal with a wide range of sounds.
As the name suggests, its greatest feature is the piercing feeling and heaviness, like swinging a heavy sword.
The op-amp topology is standard, as seen in Distortion+, RAT, OCD, and the venerable Klon Centaur/KTR, but what sets Longsword apart is its incredibly powerful and precise sound shaping.
It works great with certain guitars and amps, but the range is narrow.
It may be good on its own, but it doesn't stand out in the mix or within the band.
With Longsword, none of this matters at all.
The special boost section placed before the drive circuit also has great power and character, further expanding the Longsword's sound variations.
The character remains unchanged, but the overwhelming boost that adds weight to the leaden feeling accelerates the adrenaline, evoking a primal sense of pleasure.
From cult indie rock to thunderous doom metal, we guarantee you'll get exactly the tone you're looking for.
