VAD706 [V-Drums Acoustic Design]
The VAD706 is a first-of-its-kind electronic drum kit, combining Roland's V-Drums expertise with the handcrafted details of acoustic drums. It offers expressive power with digital snare, ride, and hi-hat effects, and works with the TD-50X module for even more natural tone and response. The full-size wooden shells feature an advanced sensor system that delivers a truly acoustic feel. And with three color options to choose from, you can choose your favorite.
- A fusion of a luxurious appearance and excellent expressiveness -
The VAD706 is not only designed for sound and performance expression, but also for appearance. With its full-size shells, two-piece hi-hat, large-diameter cymbals, double-leg cymbal stands, and three color options, its presence will captivate not only the performer but also the audience.
- Evolution of "Prismatic Sound Modeling" technology -
The VAD706 is equipped with the flagship TD-50X sound module, which delivers the sound, feel, and response of an acoustic drum. By combining drum sounds recorded in world-renowned studios with modeling techniques accumulated and refined over decades, Prismatic Sound Modeling technology delivers an incredibly realistic performance representation. From subtle ghost notes to intense drumming, it captures every detail of your drummer's performance.
Digital snare, digital ride, digital hi-hat
Roland's unique digital pad technology delivers a more faithful and sophisticated expression of your drumming. The multi-sensor technology for snare, ride, and hi-hat works synergistically with the TD-50X to capture every expression. The high-speed detection of the sensors lets you mute the ride cymbal's overtones with the touch of a finger, and seamlessly switch between snare head, rim shot, and cross stick, giving you the feel of playing an acoustic drum. The VH-14D takes the expressive potential of electronic hi-hat technology to new heights with its sensitivity, timbre, and open/close resolution analysis.
~Feels like an acoustic drum~
Roland's unique multi-layer mesh heads are adjustable, allowing you to find the perfect tension while still providing an acoustic-like playing feel. The original kick drum utilizes the physical properties of air resistance to create a realistic acoustic feel. The same goes for the toms, whose in-shell sensor system delivers an acoustic-like playing feel.
~The joy of instantly producing realistic sounds~
Imagine acoustic drums set up in a world-renowned studio, fully miked and processed. Crafted in collaboration with top drummers and recording engineers, the built-in kits cover a wide range of musical genres, from traditional jazz to metal, and you can recall any drumming style at the touch of a button.
~Create your own drum kit~
Beyond presets, the TD-50X lets you customize your sound just like you would with acoustic drums. Quickly adjust tuning and muffling, or dig deeper to build your own drum kit from scratch, choosing shell size, head type, cymbal thickness, and character. You can also immerse your kit in your own virtual space using PureAcoustic Ambience, a room type and other parameters for reverb.
~Creating sound with recording studio precision~
Once you've fine-tuned your kit, use the built-in studio tools to create a more realistic sound. Position overhead and room mics for each pad, and shape your tone with equalizers and compressors. And of course, you can also use high-quality reverbs and multi-effects.
~Convenience of connecting the stage and studio~
The rear panel, designed for ease of setup, meets every drummer's needs. A stereo XLR master output and eight TRS direct outputs allow you to send your drum sounds to an audio console in a balanced format. Up to 32 channels of digital audio can be sent via USB for PC-based music production. Of course, MIDI can also be used via USB or a conventional 5-pin connector.
~Addition of options~
The TD-50X's four analog trigger inputs make expansion easy. Expand your kit with more cymbal pads, an extra floor tom, or a smaller trigger pad like the Roland BT-1. For even more impact on stage, you can even add a kick drum.
~As a self-study tool~
The TD-50X sound module also features a practice section to help you improve your drumming technique. Use the built-in metronome and Coach mode exercises, or play along with music played from your smartphone or laptop. Use the recorder to capture any part of your performance and export it to audio for sharing. Plus, with Melodics for V-Drums, you can download 40 free practice songs to expand your practice horizons.
