◎Audio upgrade
1. Highly directional on-camera shotgun microphone
The MKE 400-II is a compact, highly directional on-camera shotgun microphone designed specifically to improve the sound quality of videos. The MKE 400-II's directionality is achieved by an acoustic interference tube, ensuring pickup from the direction the camera is pointing, resulting in clear sound quality.
2.Protection from wind and handling noise
The MKE 400-II uses a shock-mounted capsule to minimize handling noise. The MKE 400-II also features built-in wind protection and a shock mount, further enhancing its functionality for high-quality recording. The wind protection is achieved by adding an additional mesh layer inside the housing, allowing the unit to provide noise protection without the need for a separate unit. Attaching the included windshield provides even more effective wind protection. It also features a low-cut filter to reduce annoying low-frequency sounds, such as air conditioning noise and wind noise.
3. Freely Control Your Sound One of the most important aspects of recording audio is checking levels and monitoring the sound. The MKE 400-II is equipped with a low-cut filter and a three-stage sensitivity switch, allowing you to fine-tune the sound to accommodate the dynamics encountered during filming. It also features a built-in headphone monitoring output and eight-stage digital volume control. By connecting headphones with a 3.5mm jack directly to the MKE 400-II, you can easily check levels and audio performance while filming.
4. Manual or automatic power on/off
When connected to a DSLR or mirrorless camera, the MKE 400-II automatically powers on and off along with the camera (plug-in power required). The microphone is ready as soon as the camera is turned on, helping to conserve power when not in use. The power detection function is compatible with many smartphone models, and the MKE 400-II automatically powers off when removed. A manual power button is also available, along with an off-delay function (when powered off) to prevent accidental operation.
5. Operating time and accessories sufficient for normal use
The MKE 400-II uses two AAA batteries to power its microphone, allowing for up to 100 hours of continuous audio recording. The battery level indicator also shows three hours before the battery runs out, ensuring you have enough time to finish recording.
6. The Importance of a Small Package: By incorporating many functions as standard inside the microphone, you can free up space not only in your camera bag but also on the camera itself, allowing you to use other accessories. Speaking of accessories, the MKE 400-II's cable is coiled, so it doesn't get in the way and stays securely connected during shooting.
Full Control:
