Description

"Exhibition Limited 2021" is now available, allowing you to experience the unique charm of ESP, which boasts overwhelming technical capabilities from design to installation!

This product condenses the appeal of custom-made products offered by ESP.
ESP, a pioneer in custom-made guitars and basses, has created the Exhibition Limited series, which uses its extensive experience and knowledge to actually create the instruments and visually demonstrate to users the appeal of custom-made products in an easy-to-understand way.
This series is made by bringing together the artisanal skills that have been accumulated over the years, using luxuriously rare wood from the vast stock of wood that has been collected over the years, and including extremely time-consuming wood processing, special paint with a strong experimental meaning, and special handmade hardware. It is a truly supreme masterpiece that combines the best sound and beautiful looks at a high level.

As in previous years, the 2021 Exhibition Limited produced a large number of attractive guitars and basses, and Grandy & Jungle were awarded three of them.
This is a piece based on the popular MYSTIQUE, an evolution of the traditional style.

The offset-design body has the same archtop finish as the regular Mystique, but with a different laminate. It features a three-layer construction with a beautifully grained Claro walnut top and back and a Honduran mahogany center. Another unique feature of this model is the absence of the back cut that is normally applied to the back of the body.
The top and back of the body and the surface of the headstock are decorated with oriental grass-patterned foil, which makes the biggest impact in terms of appearance. At first glance it looks like gold foil, but it is actually silver foil that has been chemically altered to a gold color, which makes it less gaudy than gold foil, and the slight variations in color in different parts give it a shell-like appearance.
Amazingly, ESP craftsmen have mastered the technique of this foil application, which requires advanced skills to be applied to the curved surface of the archtop, and are actually performing the work.
Of course, the sound, which can be said to be the essence of the instrument, is also excellent. By sandwiching Honduras mahogany, which has a rich mid-low range and is an excellent tonewood, between walnut, which has a fast rise and excellent attack, the sound is solid and thick, yet well-separated and well-balanced, making it easy to use in both clean and distorted sounds.

The slim U-shaped neck is made of Indian rosewood, which is comfortable to hold without being too slender. The rosewood neck provides just the right amount of stiffness for the core of the sound, while the walnut top and back give the body a moderate attack. This combination of these two characteristics ensures that even when tuning down, the tone is not lost and the sound is clearly articulated.
The fingerboard, which is inlaid with abalone and pearl, is made of high-quality MacArthur wood, and the Jescar EVO frets are carefully finished to match the body's foil, hardware, and overall atmosphere.

The pickups, fitted with Macassar ebony covers that match the fingerboard, are Seymour Duncan Custom Shop 59/JAZZ Hybrid (neck pickup) and 59/JB Hybrid (rear pickup). Both pickups combine different coil models, a feature unique to Custom Shop pickups. However, Duncan's 59, JAZZ, and JB have been highly popular classics for many years, and their tone nuances are very easy to use, with just the right amount of power, making them suitable for a wide range of genres.
The bridge and tailpiece are ESP Custom Lab's TM20 Brass -Define- and TP20 Brass -Horizontal-, developed specifically for the Exhibition Limited. The bridge's design offsets the strings from the center of the saddle, eliminating buzzing by cutting the rear of the bridge body under each string, concentrating string tension on the saddle. The octave adjustment screws, which require a hex wrench, are also easily accessible, allowing for stress-free octave adjustment.
The tailpiece is also different from conventional ones, as the tension is adjusted by moving it back and forth rather than by changing the height so that the anchor block embedded in the body and the tailpiece are always in face-to-face contact.
Both the bridge and tailpiece are parts that highlight ESP's unique sense of style, which places importance not only on design but also on sound and usability.
In addition to the bridge and tailpiece, the brass parts such as the escutcheon, volume and tone knobs, switch knob, and scalloped nut are all antique-finished.

While the certificate enclosed with regular custom-made and limited edition models is made of paper, this Exhibition Limited model comes with a special acrylic certificate attached to a hard case, which is also heavy and special.
Not only is the finish artistic, but when you actually play it, it has a very well-balanced, stress-free sound, and even though it's an electric guitar, you can enjoy a pleasant, live sound.
This series can truly be called the ultimate, condensing ESP's unique outstanding technology, the instrument-making know-how it has cultivated over many years, and the enthusiasm of its craftsmen to challenge themselves with innovative and new methods.
Not only is this a one-of-a-kind gem, but most of the pieces sold at Exhibition Limited each year are distributed overseas, so they are rarely sold domestically.
It's a pricey guitar, but you'll definitely appreciate its value, and it's one you'll own for the rest of your life.
