Description
The Colour Box V2 inherits all the features of the V1 and adds new features such as expanded EQ controls, a Hi/Lo switch for larger, cleaner headroom, and a circuit that passes phantom power from the console through to the XLR input.
■ HI/LO switch to change headroom
The Colour Box V2 now features a HI/LO switch that lets you adjust the clean headroom. LO mode lets you easily achieve a pure clean sound without breakup, making it ideal for tone shaping without distortion. HI mode easily distorts, allowing you to achieve a wide range of sounds, including overdrive, distortion, and fuzz.
The blue EQ section features the standard Treble, Middle, and Bass controls, along with three new Shift controls that interact with them. This knob adjusts the frequency range of the Treble, Middle, and Bass controls. The center frequencies of the Shift knob are 10 kHz for Treble, 1 kHz for Middle, and 120 Hz for Bass, and the Treble, Middle, and Bass knobs provide boost/cut controls within a range of +/- 17 dB.
■Safety-Through Phantom Power Circuit
When connecting the Colour Box V2 output to a console that can supply phantom power, a through circuit is provided to safely send the signal to the Colour Box V2's XLR input. This also supports condenser microphones that require power.
*If connected to a device that does not support phantom power supply, you will not be able to use devices that require power supply, such as condenser microphones.
■ Compatible with DC9V power supply
While the V1 was powered by 18V DC, the V2 is powered by the standard 9V DC, making power supply easier and eliminating the need for a special adapter.
