Description
●~A latecomer...NO.1~
Strymon, the master of spatial effects, has now made a bold move into the realm of distortion pedals, the core of guitar sound. Following on from the "Riverside" that covered all guitar tube preamps, the company has now introduced the "SUNSET," a distortion and boost pedal that fully covers the preamp stage, a hybrid of analog and DSP technology.
Six distortion modes: Six classic overdrive/distortion circuits. SUNSET offers two channels, A and B, with different circuit topologies, allowing you to create any classic drive sound.
Ge: Germanium diode circuit and parallel dry signal mix
Texas: Single-stage soft clipping with mid-range fullness
Treble: Clean boost with low frequencies cut using the TONE control
2stage: 2-stage style that goes from soft clipping to hard clipping
Hard: High gain + single stage hard clipping style
JFET: Clean boost that adds thickness and warmth to your sound
●Front panel
Simple controls for LEVEL, GAIN, and TONE. Independent ON/OFF switches for A and B channels can be turned ON/OFF. True bypass with electronic relays. (Can also be changed to buffered bypass.)
Rear panel
The BRIGHT switch allows you to select the high-frequency character that matches the connected amplifier. The routing switch allows you to select the connection order of Channel A and Channel B. In A+B mode, the two channels are connected in parallel. You can preset settings using the optional Mini switch and recall them instantly. You can also use an expression pedal to control the output or any control.
High-performance noise reduction (gate) function. Ultra-low noise 24-bit 96kHz A/D and D/A converters. High-quality analog input and output. Super high-performance SHARC DSP with 32-bit floating point calculation. Bypass: True bypass (can be set to analog buffered bypass).
Input voltage: 9VDC center negative, 250mA
