Description
The C314 uses the same diaphragm as the C414 XLS, a favorite in studios around the world, capturing the original sound as it is. It features a large, 1-inch diaphragm. Its extremely flat response faithfully reproduces even the most delicate textures and emotions expressed by musicians. Furthermore, a redesigned electrical circuit achieves extremely low self-noise. A wide dynamic range enables dense recordings from high to low frequencies. The dual-diaphragm configuration features two computer-matched diaphragms positioned in parallel. This allows for highly precise control of directivity while significantly suppressing the effects of the proximity effect. The diaphragm is supported by a suspension, providing excellent protection against vibration noise.

The C314 is highly versatile. Choose from four polar patterns: cardioid, supercardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8. It minimizes the effects of external noise and captures pure sound in a variety of situations, from recording instruments with limited space to those requiring complex microphone placement. It also maximizes dynamic range to ensure headroom. Equipped with an overload LED to warn of excessive input and a -20dB pad, it is suitable for a wide range of sound sources, from vocals and piano to high-intensity electric guitars and drums. It's ideal for both studio and live performances.

The C314 features a double metal mesh grille to protect the diaphragm and increase resistance to RF interference. Its durable, scratch-resistant metal body also features an ON/OFF switch on the side of the unit for a low-cut filter that suppresses the proximity effect. The lineup also includes a precisely matched stereo pair (C314/ST).
