The SUPEREGO Synth Engine samples the notes you play to create infinite sustain. You can freeze chords (keep them ringing) and layer solos on top of them. Smoothly glancing a frozen note into the next note creates a synth-like portamento effect. You can also layer sounds one after another with each footswitch press, with the option to specify how much of the previous note remains. The built-in effects loop lets you add additional effects to the SUPEREGO's effects.
What's more, there's even an auto mode that automatically freezes single notes or chords without the need to operate a footswitch. This is something you've never experienced before, a pedal that's truly unique to Electro-Harmonix.

Available in latch, momentary and auto.
Momentary mode: The sound is frozen only while the foot switch is pressed. The fade-in/fade-out of the frozen sound can be adjusted with the SPEED control.
Latch mode: Each time you press the pedal, the sound is layered. The volume of the sound before layering can be adjusted with the LAYER control.
●Auto mode: Detects and freezes single notes and chords.
The freeze sound can be faded out using the SPEED control.
▶Controls ● SPEED/LAYER: Depending on the mode, this adjusts the fade-in/out of the frozen sound and the volume before layering.
●GLISS: Adjusts the speed at which the frozen sound changes to the next sound.
●DRY: Adjusts the volume of the dry sound without any effects applied.
●EFFECT: Adjusts the volume of the effect sound.
