Description
Description
The Fuzzpaghetti is a clone of the Mosrite FuzzRite (Silicon), released in 1968.
The Fuzzpaghetti has a completely different sound from the Fuzz Face or Tone Bender. Its buzzy, wild tone complements surf music and garage rock, making it a one-of-a-kind fuzz sound. The DEPTH knob, in particular, works differently from traditional fuzz controls, blending two fuzz sounds. Turning it counterclockwise produces the sound of the first transistor, while turning it clockwise cascades the second transistor, creating a fatter sound and greater gain.
The internal trim pot allows you to adjust the tone from the extreme fuzz tone of the original to the fat sound that can only be heard on this unit. Turning it counterclockwise produces the sawtooth tone of the original FuzzRite pedal, while turning it clockwise transforms it into a wonderfully fat fuzz tone. The greatest feature of the Fuzzpaghetti is that it allows you to enjoy the modified sounds of builder Roman Gil while retaining the precious sound of the original!
Hand-wired and silk-screened in Barcelona, the pedal comes in a custom-made stainless steel enclosure that pays homage to the original unit and is sized to fit perfectly on your pedalboard.
The Fuzzpaghetti name is an homage to the widespread use of FuzzRite in Spaghetti Western films of the 1960s and 1970s.
[The History of Mosrite FuzzRite]
Mosrite is a guitar manufacturer based in California, USA. It rose to fame in 1963 when it signed a licensing agreement with The Ventures. Other notable guitarists include Johnny Ramone of the Ramones and Fred Sonic Smith of the MC5, and the brand still has many passionate fans today.
The fuzz pedal developed by Eddie Sanner, who joined Mosrite in the fall of 1965, was named FUZZ-rite and an initial run of 250 units was produced. It didn't sell at all at first, and sat in a warehouse until West Coast psychedelic rock band The Iron Butterfly used it on their 1968 hit "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida." Bands like the Animals and the Ventures also used Fuzzrites in their songs.
The first 250 units used germanium transistors, but their temperature sensitivity proved unsuitable, and silicon transistors were subsequently adopted.
This fuzz circuit was later featured in the Ventures signature Mosrite guitar amplifier.
After leaving Mosrite, Eddie Sanner joined the Rosac brand and developed the Nu-Fuzz, a model that added a tone control to the Fuzzrite, and the Nu-Wa, a fuzz-wah pedal.

CONTROL
VOLUME: Output level control
DEPTH: Unlike a traditional fuzz control, this blends two fuzz sounds. Counterclockwise controls the first transistor, while clockwise controls cascade the second transistor, increasing the gain.
Internal Trim Pot: The internal trim pot allows you to adjust the tone from the extreme fuzz tone of the original to the fat sound that can only be heard on this unit. Turning it counterclockwise gives you the sawtooth tone of the original FuzzRite pedal, while turning it clockwise gives you a wonderfully fat fuzz tone.
