Organic Sounds, which has made a name for itself by releasing replica models of vintage pedals, now introduces Orthros, a reproduction of the famous disc-cased old fuzz pedal in a smaller enclosure.
Orthros. The silver body features a graphic based on the two-headed dog of Greek mythology, brother to Cerberus and the Hydra. Its beautiful form will inspire you to add it to your own pedal board. This is where Organic Sounds' unique commitment to not only sound but also appearance shines.
This silver version is a germanium transistor version. It reproduces a pure, disc-like sound without adding any unnecessary flavor to the original circuit. The controls are the same as the original: Volume and Fuzz. It not only produces a warm fuzz sound at full gain, but also a firm, clean-up sound with a solid core when you turn down the guitar volume, creating a truly vintage sound.
It features true bypass and only the output has been slightly increased, making it suitable for modern use. Just like the original, it faithfully reproduces how its operation changes depending on factors such as temperature.
* Carefully selected PNP germanium transistors are used. A negative voltage is generated internally, allowing use with standard power supplies.
