Tweakable Optical Compressor

"Mira" is an attention-grabbing word, like "to see" in Spanish. The Mira Optical Compressor dynamically captivates the senses, enabling you to create studio-grade tones that need to be seen, heard, and, above all, felt. A true-bypass optical compressor offering studio-level shaping and sustain, Mira is packed with controls typically found on studio units. Adjust each control to deliver warm, analog-optical compression with pleasing sustain and smooth attack and release.

*Optical compressor
This uses a light-transducing element called a photocell in the compression circuit. This method is often seen in vintage equipment, and although it has a slow response time and its volume characteristics are not precisely linear, it produces a soft, natural compression effect.

●BLEND: Adjusts the amount of compressed signal mixed with the dry signal.
●Make-Up: Allows you to make up for the volume lost by the compressor.
●Threshold: Sets the volume point at which the compressor begins to work.
●Ratio: Sets the compressor ratio, or the amount of volume reduction that occurs after the signal exceeds the threshold.
●Attack: Adjusts the initial response, or how the compressor works after the signal exceeds the threshold.
●Release: Adjusts the release response ("release time") of the compressor when the signal falls below the threshold.
●HPF (High Pass Filter): Use this when you want to prevent low frequencies (below 120Hz) from being compressed in the same way as higher frequencies.
