The Royal Blue Overdrive (RBO) is an overdrive with a wide range of tones, from light overdrive to distortion, and can also be used as a booster with EQ when the distortion knob is set to minimum.
It can also produce a hard-attack crunch sound reminiscent of a tube amp, and with minimal filtering it delivers a transparent overdrive tone, with both the Treble and Bass controls allowing for further tone adjustment.
Like a top-of-the-line boutique amplifier, the RBO lets you freely control the amount of distortion by adjusting the guitar volume knob or the strength with which you pick the strings. The RBO adds incredible expressive power to clean tones and slightly overdriven amp sounds.
[SPECIFICATIONS]
■CONTROLS
VOLUME: Adjusts the overall output level.
DISTORTION: Controls the distortion of the dynamic response, which is sensitive to picking strength.
TREBLE: A shelving-type equalizer that boosts or cuts the high end in the same frequency range as the amplifier's presence control. This can add sparkle to a bright-toned amplifier without interfering with the amplifier's treble boost.
BASS: A shelving-type equalizer that boosts or cuts the low end just above the resonance produced by a standard 4x12 cabinet. Increasing both Bass and Treble will give you a heavy, scooped mid-range sound. Lowering the knob settings will give you a softer mid-boosted sound.
■SETTINGS
For Midboost: Set the Treble and Bass controls fully counterclockwise.
For Midcut: Set the Treble and Bass controls fully clockwise.
