The BJF-designed Sweet Honey Overdrive (SHOD) is a low-gain overdrive pedal that responds sensitively to your fingertip.
It's designed to provide extra drive for distorted amps, or even a light overdrive that allows you to control the dynamics of a clean sound.
The distortion level is controlled by the pick attack and pickup volume. Pick harder for overdrive or softer for a cleaner tone. The unique FACUS control adjusts the feel, dynamics, and overall EQ of the distortion. Turning this control fully counterclockwise produces a mellow tone with minimal distortion, perfect for jazz and blues, while turning it fully clockwise produces a brighter distortion with a slight high-frequency boost.
Previously, the only similar overdrive available was the BJF Honey Bee, but now the Mad Professor version has been released. The Mad Professor SHOD has a tighter sound and is designed to perform well with a variety of guitars and amps, making it more versatile.

FOCUS: Controls the circuit's susceptibility to distortion and the overall EQ. Turning it fully counterclockwise produces a mellow tone with little distortion, while turning it fully clockwise produces bright distortion with a slight boost in the high frequencies. The recommended starting point for this control is the 11 o'clock position.
