Description

After about four years since the order was placed, the highest quality Series II SSB has finally been completed!

There is probably no other manufacturer that can bring out the beauty of cocobolo in such a profound and attractive way as Alembic.
This is the top-of-the-line "Series II" SSB, which follows the specifications of Stanley Clarke's "Dragon's Breath."

The semi-hollow vermilion (paduk) structure and body wings made of heavy cocobolo are denser than those made of mahogany core, giving the sound a more resilient tone, and like other SSBs, it produces a thick, rich sound that is hard to believe is a short scale.

We occasionally introduce a model with the same body equipped with the Signature Circuit, but this model retains its solid, solid feel while sounding even lighter. When both pickups are mixed, of course, but when played with the front alone, it has the rich flavor of a fine vintage instrument, and the superb bass sound that only the top Alembic models have, with super clarity yet rich overtones, is a privilege that only the owner can enjoy.

The maple through-neck extends straight to the end of the body, and is a 1.5-inch narrow neck specification that lavishly uses three forbidden ebony stripes, just like Clark's own model.
The inlaid logo, integrated into the mirror-smooth surface, has a beauty and depth that draws you in the more you look at it, emanating a quiet presence that goes beyond its value as an option.

This "Series" circuit-equipped instrument uses the dedicated power supply unit DS-5, which allows it to be powered by nearly double the voltage of +-15V to +-20V (equivalent to a rack-mounted preamp) rather than the +18V that is normally required from batteries, boasting headroom and a dynamic range that is unmatched by other active basses.

In addition, compared to the "I" model, which allows for stepless control of the filter Q using a knob, not only does the Series II allow for stepless control, but many of the options that were extra charges on the Series I are included in the original base price, making it clear that it is positioned at the top of the line of models.

This is the world's finest short-scale bass, exuding absolute reliability in all aspects, including its high standard as an instrument, presence, distinctive sound, and balance.
