--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following is quoted from the new product page.

Since its founding in 1974, Taylor guitars, crafted from carefully selected wood materials and parts using the latest technology and the hands of skilled craftsmen, have earned high praise and support from top musicians, and now boast a top-class market share in America.
The T5 (Thinline Fiveway), Taylor's first electric guitar, may look like a semi-acoustic at first glance, but it's a groundbreaking electric guitar with a unique style, utilizing the structure of an acoustic guitar—a testament to Taylor's expertise as an acoustic guitar manufacturer.

Based on the popular and reasonably priced compact T5z series, the "T5z Custom Koa" features a beautiful koa wood top! The T5 series' most distinctive pickup system includes Taylor's original "Expression System," familiar from the electro-acoustic series, as well as a stacked humbucking pickup! The sound produced by the combination of a magnetic pickup embedded in the neck end and a dynamic body sensor attached to the back of the body top is so realistic that you might mistake it for an electro-acoustic guitar. The humbucking pickup delivers a punchy sound with strong midrange, allowing you to enjoy electric sounds that can even cover high-gain lead tones.
These pickups can be switched using the 5-way selector located on the side of the body, which is also the origin of the model name! The selector is positioned from the headstock side (position 1) and allows you to switch between the three different pickup combinations. You can also use different pickup positions to switch between an acoustic-electric amp and an electric amp. Using an AB-BOX to switch amps is also recommended!

Furthermore, the controls mounted on the top of the body are incredibly simple and easy to understand and use, consisting of only three controls: volume, treble, and bass boost/cut tone controls! The exquisite nuances of the tone controls allow for a wide range of sound shaping depending on the pickups used.

The T5 is truly a new generation electric guitar that fuses electric and acoustic elements.
Its limitless potential depends entirely on how the player uses it. An unprecedented sensation will spark inspiration, leading to the creation of new music!

[5-Way Pickup Selector]
■Position-1 (Front PU + Body Sensor)
This is an acoustic tone produced by activating the body sensor.
This body sensor captures the delicate and dynamic airiness of the guitar's body, making it ideal for use with acoustic-specific amplifiers. When connected to a standard guitar amplifier, it fails to fully capture the airiness, making it difficult to perceive the difference from Position-2 (which uses only the front pickup). This sound faithfully reproduces the subtle nuances of your picking technique.

■Position-2 (Front PU)
It produces a natural electric tone.
It offers a user-friendly tone with just the right amount of airiness and a wide range. While it typically produces a semi-acoustic-like resonance, the tone control settings allow you to achieve a sweet tone similar to a full-acoustic guitar. A clean tone from a guitar amp would sound particularly pleasing.

■Position-3 (Rear PU)
This has the most electric-sounding tone.
This pedal delivers a powerful, punchy sound with a strong midrange, allowing you to enjoy electric tones that can even handle high-gain lead tones. The midrange is well-defined, resulting in excellent drive response and a sound far beyond what its appearance would suggest. Furthermore, with a clean amp setting and the T-5's treble control turned up, it can even produce a Telecaster-like sound, showcasing its versatility.

■Position-4 (Front PU + Rear PU in parallel)
It has a crisp, firm tone.
This sound evokes the rustic tone of a bygone era, making it perfect for country licks or big band jazz. It generally pairs well with clean to slightly distorted electric amps, but it would also be interesting to connect it to an acoustic amp.

■Position-5 (Front PU + Rear PU series)
It produces a flat, fat, humbucking-like tone.
The amp offers a flexible tone that can handle a wide range of settings, from clean to high gain, with a glossy and smooth feel. While the fat clean tone is interesting, I think the smooth sustain of the sound with a slightly stronger crunch is particularly pleasing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

With its relatively thin neck shape and compact body, this guitar offers excellent playability that will make you forget the time as you play. Please take this opportunity to experience it for yourself.

*Regarding the condition, there are no noticeable dents or damage to the frets, and approximately 70% of the frets remain. The truss rod also has plenty of adjustment range.
The electrical system is in good working order, but there is some slight plating wear on the metal parts, and there are fine, shallow scratches throughout.

*Please refer to the photos for any particularly noticeable large scratches or damage.

Accessories: Original hard case
