Description
Bargain second-hand items have arrived.

A high-quality used Custom Shop Jazz Bass, confirmed to be a 2008 model through serial number verification, has arrived, boasting an impressive relic finish. It's modeled after the 1964 specifications. In addition to the classic alder body/rosewood fingerboard, it features a round laminate fingerboard, a distinctly yellow 3-color sunburst finish in the center, and the removal of the ground wire that ran along the body top from under the bridge towards the rear pickup—a vision that foreshadows modern Fender designs.

This guitar boasts a distinctive Fender design, featuring a center-two-piece alder body, a 7.25-inch fingerboard radius, and a quarter-sawn maple neck. Upon playing, the rich vibrations and cohesive tone across all registers immediately convey the instrument's well-worn character and the use of high-quality tonewoods. This characteristic further enhances the crisp, punchy tone characteristic of round fingerboards. Furthermore, the previous owner shared a fascinating anecdote: former master builder Mark Kendrick personally signed the back of the headstock and the included hard case during his visit to Japan.

While it originally had a relic finish, there are signs of wear and tear from use, such as paint peeling on the back of the body, buckle marks, and a partial loss of the headstock logo. However, these do not detract from its overall appearance, and both the sound and look suggest that it was carefully nurtured by its previous owner. There is also a slight lifting of the pickguard due to shrinkage, but this does not affect playability. Of course, there are no issues with the truss rod or fret life, and this is a guitar that can continue to produce its signature sound for years to come. Don't miss this classic, high-quality used JB bass that is ready to play right away.
