Description

34-input/34-output Thunderbolt 3 audio interface

The Horizon 16 is a 34-input/34-output Thunderbolt™ 3 audio interface/AD/DA converter featuring 16 channels of line input/output via four DB25 connectors and 32-bit conversion with a dynamic range of 133dB.
The round-trip latency is 0.99ms*. In addition to the DB25 input, it also features a TRS input for a stereo mix bus, allowing you to re-record your mix into your DAW without having to reconnect the entire outboard rack. It is designed for engineers who want to integrate analog equipment and instruments into a hybrid mixing environment.

*Measured at 192kHz/Buffer Size: 64 samples

◆Main Features

Thunderbolt 3 connection: 34 inputs/34 outputs; Main line input/output: 16 inputs/16 outputs, DB25 terminals x 4
Dedicated stereo mix bus input for master recording; dedicated stereo monitor output for independent reference monitoring.
32-bit/192kHz conversion, dynamic range 133dB
Round-trip latency: 0.99ms (192kHz, 64 samples)
ADAT input x 2 / output x 2: Supports 16-channel digital expansion.

◆Reasons for choosing HORIZON 16

The Horizon 16 is designed to be the core of a hybrid studio. With 16 channels of line input/output via four DB25 connectors, you can keep compressors, EQs, and summing boxes permanently connected in your rack. Furthermore, a dedicated stereo mix bus signal path allows you to record the master to your DAW without changing cables.

With a 133dB dynamic range and 32-bit conversion, it faithfully captures return signals from outboard gear without unwanted coloration. A 0.99ms round-trip latency allows for low-latency operation even when using native plugins.
The dedicated software, 'Horizon Control', allows you to manage routing, monitoring, and meter displays from a single panel. For sessions where one unit isn't enough input/output, you can daisy-chain up to four Horizon series units and expand the entire system to a maximum of 200 inputs/200 outputs with a single driver. *(When using 4 Horizon 32 units)

◆From a DSP-centric production environment to a more flexible native environment

Horizon 16 achieves a round-trip latency of 0.99ms when set to 192kHz/64 samples.

Recording vocals with compression and EQ applied. Playing with a sound processed through a guitar amp simulator. Layering software instruments and live performances with the same sense of timing. Even in these situations, it provides a response that minimizes the performer's awareness of delay.

This system allows you to build a recording system centered around your preferred DAW and native plugins, without being tied to a specific DAW and DSP environment. It enables you to create a low-latency recording environment without limiting your production tool choices.

◆Scalable system configuration with up to 4 units

The Horizon series allows you to daisy-chain up to four units on a single driver.
The entire system supports a maximum of 200x200 I/O. *When using 4 Horizon32 units.

From small private studios to production environments with multiple booths, the system can be assembled according to the number of inputs and outputs required.
