The EQ DELUXE is a 3-band inductive EQ based on the legendary 1950s Pultec EQP-1A studio EQ, optimized for guitar and bass.

The Pultec EQP-1A has been a beloved staple in high-end audio production for decades, thanks to its musical EQ curve, the delicate saturation produced by its push-pull vacuum tube output circuit, and the famous "Pultec Low-End Trick" known for adding thickness to the low frequencies.

Therefore, it has gained strong support from engineers, especially in bass sound shaping, but it is also widely regarded as equipment that adds appeal and individuality and enables practical sound creation simply by incorporating it into the signal chain.

The EQ DELUXE recreates the sound of this legendary pedal for bass and guitar. It features carefully selected EQ frequencies, slightly enhanced saturation, and several improvements to make it more user-friendly on modern bass/guitar pedalboards.

The Paltech Trick
The Pultec EQP-1A is known for its unique low-frequency handling, and the EQ DELUXE faithfully reproduces this behavior. By simultaneously manipulating the BOOST and CUT of the low-frequency band, you can create a one-of-a-kind curve that adds weight to the low frequencies while improving mid-range clarity. It's effective not only for thick bass tones but also for guitars and other sound sources.

Studio Saturation
The EQ DELUXE also inherits Pultec's ability to breathe life into any signal. The push-pull tube makeup amplifier in the output stage of the Pultec EQP-1A is one of the factors that creates the "magic" unique to this legendary unit. In the EQ DELUXE, this output stage has been reconstructed with a carefully designed solid-state circuit, achieving the precisely controlled tube-like saturation that was just like that of a 1950s studio.

The Mid-Frequency Band leverages the EQ DELUXE's inductor-based circuitry to deliver a wide range of mid-boost at frequencies specifically selected for bass and guitar. The High-Frequency Band provides warm, balanced high-frequency attenuation across a wide range, adding a finishing touch to your tone. Even at its most extreme settings, all three bands of the EQ DELUXE maintain a natural, musical, and inspiring sound. The EQ DELUXE blends seamlessly with any bass or guitar rig and its high-headroom circuitry accommodates line-level signals in the studio. Built with premium components, its sound and quality rival those of historically significant equipment.
