The Soloist is the most iconic and representative model of Beaujolais.
Featuring an OM (Orchestra) body with a distinctive shallow Venetian cutaway, this guitar boasts a beautiful silhouette. Its refined design and sound have earned it the moniker "Modern Classic," and it enjoys immense popularity, especially among fingerstyle players.
Despite its appearance, it boasts a surprisingly thick and substantial fundamental tone, and despite its OM body, it offers a wide dynamic range that makes you feel like you're playing a dreadnought. Moreover, it has excellent responsiveness to picking, with the entire body vibrating smoothly even with a light strum, and when touched firmly, the sound image is not crushed, resulting in a sound balance that is extremely faithful to the player's touch nuances.
This model best reflects Dana's original design philosophy in both its looks and design, and this Down East series also strongly conveys that lineage.

Furthermore, this particular guitar was carefully selected by Akita, the floor chief of Hartman Guitars, during a visit to the Eastman factory at the end of June 2026, from among many stock guitars.
We carefully select each and every instrument, paying attention to everything from the wood grain of the top and back to the subtle differences in sound.


◆Infini Custom Works' dual pickup system is incredibly powerful for fingerstyle playing◆

To faithfully reproduce the guitar's inherently wonderful tone even in line-out sound, it comes equipped with a dual pickup system combining contact piezo and magnetic pickups, which is extremely effective for fingerstyle playing.
This type of dual system is adopted by many fingerstyle guitarists, including Andy McKee and Kotaro Oshio.
By blending the raw, authentic acoustic guitar sound obtained from a contact pickup with the thick, forward sound characteristic of a magnetic pickup, it's possible to create a raw yet full-bodied line sound that's perfect for fingerstyle playing.

The main (tip) contact piezo uses the "Enfini Custom Works R-Zero Contact Pro BACNT".
This is an original contact pickup, handcrafted and installed by Mitsunori Fujioka, the representative of Anfini Custom Works, a company renowned for producing some of the industry's leading acoustic guitar pickup systems. Each pickup is tailored to the specific characteristics of the individual guitar.
This time, we've selected the BACNT, a bass-enhanced type that's suitable for techniques like slap playing, from their lineup!
Thanks to its extremely lightweight design, it delivers a natural acoustic sound, powerful bass, and palm sounds without compromising the guitar's natural resonance.

The magnetic pickup uses the "DiMarzio DP234".
Compared to the standard "SUNRISE S-2" in dual systems, it's slightly less powerful in the low frequencies, but in return, it produces a silky, forward sound that emphasizes chord tones and melody lines. It's a pickup that has recently been gaining attention in the solo guitar scene as a new standard magnetic pickup!

I entrusted the contact and magnetic pickup setup to Mr. Fujioka, resulting in a setup that brings out 100% of the characteristics of both pickups.
Furthermore, the magnetic element is designed to be easily removable, allowing for use in recording sessions and other situations where the natural sound is not interfered with.
By blending and using two excellent pickups, you can achieve the wide range, nuanced reproduction, and depth inherent in acoustic instruments.
Furthermore, Mr. Fujioka has also tuned up the string height balance, resulting in a guitar with a distinctly different level of playability.
