AZ Premium 2026 7 String NEW Model!!

The AZ Premium: The standard model for the new generation of guitarists.
A new model featuring a vibrant blue color that gives it a modern look, with a 7-string design, pickguard mounting, and SSH layout.

◆AZ Oval C Roasted Maple neck
The neck is made of heat-treated maple wood.
Heat treatment provides benefits such as shape stability, resistance to warping, water resistance, and resistance to temperature changes.
After several prototypes and tests, we concluded that a neck thickness of 20.5*22.5 (at 1F*12F) is the best.
The back of the neck has a satin finish, ensuring a smooth playing experience.
Regarding the neck shape, it's an original design that was perfected after measuring and analyzing the neck grips of dozens of guitars, both from our own company and other manufacturers.
This comfort grip features a smooth, rounded shape from the joint between the fretboard and neck down to the fretboard edge.
The shape is precisely reproduced using ball milling.
The neck width is set at 47mm at the nut and 66mm at the last fret, with a shape that is particularly designed for ease of gripping in the lower fret area and for classical style playing with the thumb placed on the back of the neck in the higher fret area.

◆Rosewood fretboard
The fingerboard is made of rosewood, which is characterized by its midrange characteristics and warm tone.

◆Jumbo Stainless Frets & Luminescent side dot inlay
It features stainless steel frets, which offer excellent maintainability, a quick attack, good note separation when playing chords, and a clear sound when playing individual notes.
It features a jumbo size, which allows for light touch fingering and is excellent for playing fast passages and smooth bending.
Furthermore, it features highly visible 3.0mm diameter phosphorescent dot position markers that can adapt to rapidly changing performance environments due to lighting and other factors.

◆A shallow body back contour & Super All Access Neck Joint
This is an original body shape designed with a contemporary aesthetic in mind.
The thin body contour and large elbow contour, reminiscent of Ibanez's flagship S model, create a sense of unity between the player and the guitar, greatly contributing to improved playability.
The deeper waist of the body improves handling when held and on stage, resulting in superior playability.
The body has different corner radii on the front and back, with a radius of R3mm on the front and R8mm on the back, resulting in an ergonomic design that provides a comfortable fit the moment you pick up the guitar, whether sitting or standing.
It features a Super All Access Neck Joint, which achieves high playability by carving an 8mm height difference from the back of the body and finishing the neck joint with a spherical surface.
The bass string side features a shallower cutaway, maximizing the contact area between the body and neck. This design maintains high playability while simultaneously achieving excellent sustain and resonance. Furthermore, the horn and cutaway have a deeply sculpted shape reminiscent of Ibanez's flagship RG model, ensuring ease of playing in the higher positions.

◆Seymour Duncan×Ibanez collaboration pickups “Hyperion”
We obtained dozens of different pickups and measured the frequency characteristics of all of them. From those, we determined the specifications and sound image of the pickup that we thought was best suited for the AZ, and created this AZ-exclusive pickup in collaboration with Seymour Duncan, a pickup brand with a long history and a reputation for continuing to innovate.
This custom pickup prioritizes picking responsiveness and accuracy, keeping the output relatively low across the board to retain some of the original clean tone even when distorted.
We prioritized overall balance, from the treble to the bass, and even the tone of each string from the 1st to the 7th, while also striving for excellent effect response. Alnico-5 magnets are used.

◆Alter switch for dyna-MIX 9 wiring
With a single flick of the mini-switch, you can freely switch between humbucker and single-coil modes, allowing you to produce nine different sound variations.
The neck and center single-coil pickups are wired in series to simulate a neck humbucker sound.
This switching system is ideal for modern guitar players who need to perform multiple roles with limited equipment.

◆Gotoh T1572S tremolo bridge with Steel saddles 10.5mm string spacing Snap and hold arm socket
The GOTOH 510 bridge, widely regarded by many players and brands as the definitive tremolo bridge, has been reborn through a collaboration between Ibanez and GOTOH.
Featuring steel saddles and a steel inertia block for quick response and a tight sound, this guitar also boasts excellent note separation during chord work.
The string spacing is a narrow 10.5mm, designed to make it easier to pick across strings, a feature demanded by players who frequently use string skipping and hybrid picking.
Furthermore, it features an arm socket that allows the use of the Ibanez Edge tremolo arm and the Ultra Light Tremolo Arm (carbon fiber/UTA20/sold separately).
Unlike conventional tonearms that require twisting, this tonearm can be attached with a snap-in mechanism. It also features an arm torque adjustment mechanism that allows players to fix or release the arm angle according to their preference.
In addition, it comes standard with a stud lock mechanism that firmly secures the studs with grub screws embedded in them, greatly contributing to tuning stability and resonance.
It employs a two-point floating support system that allows for smooth arming and arm-up movements.

◆Graph Tech tu
It features a Graph Tech nut, which boasts smooth tuning stability. It achieves both a clear sound and excellent sustain.

◆Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads
To enhance the convenience of string changes, we've adopted Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads, which are renowned for their tuning stability.
The design allows you to easily lock the strings through the post holes by turning a dial with your finger.

[Story of the AZ]
The trend of demanding technical skill in guitar playing is gaining momentum every day, and musical styles such as rock, metal, blues, jazz, and fusion are becoming increasingly intertwined.

Thanks to advancements in the internet and digital devices, it's no longer uncommon for individual players to reach audiences across national borders, making it easy to stream performances.
As a result, a large community was formed where players of all nationalities, ages, and genders could participate and be evaluated. Interaction within the community flourished, and players constantly challenged and improved each other, making it inevitable that originality, techniques, and methods of expression would continue to be updated.
We are now in an era where a new generation of guitar heroes and guitar heroines are taking flight from all over the world, bringing new surprises with them.

Such players demand extremely high levels from their guitars, precisely because they strive for even greater heights. For them, the guitar is no longer merely a tool; it could even be considered an interchangeable part of their body, used to enhance the music and expressive power woven by their two hands and ten fingers.
One of the reasons Ibanez created the AZ series is to create a guitar that can synchronize with the body of this new generation of guitarists, a guitar that can become an extension of their own body.

Ibanez prides itself on being a leading modern guitar brand that creates guitars demanded by contemporary players. The AZ model is the culmination of everything Ibanez has cultivated, from A to Z. The AZ embodies the DNA of guitar making accumulated by Ibanez, which is evident in the design of each part, as well as in the blend of modern and classical elements in its colors and overall design, all aimed at realizing the elements demanded by modern players.

So, is it really true that simply gathering "good parts" will result in a good guitar that produces a good sound?
At Ibanez, we believe there's no basis for what constitutes a "good sound"; what matters is the "sound you're looking for."
A good guitar is one that can produce the sound you want.
Ibanez believes that in guitars, individual parts and designs are not independent entities, but rather work in harmony with each other to define the sound character, ultimately allowing you to achieve the desired tone.

Is the AZ just a rehash of traditional guitars? Or is it a guitar that simply follows the crowd?
There's only one way to find out: you have to pick up this guitar and play it.
What the birth of the AZ signifies is simply that a new generation of guitars has been born.
