J.Michael FG-500 Flugelhorn

The flugelhorn, with its rich, soft, and sweet tone, is a charming instrument. The lower-spring type flugelhorn produces a mellow sound that is characteristic of the flugelhorn.
Because it's designed to produce a generally bright tone, switching from a trumpet is easy.
It's ideal not only for ensembles and solos, but also as an introductory instrument for those starting out in British-style brass bands.


●Features: This model was developed to achieve a mellow tone characteristic of the flugelhorn while maintaining ease of playing.
Inheriting the design philosophy of the higher-end Brasspire Unicorn model, the highly durable stainless steel piston ensures stable piston action.


●Materials: The bell is made of yellow brass to produce a bright tone, but to achieve a richer sound, only the first valve slide (the U-shaped part below the bell) is made of red brass.
To achieve a more solid playing feel, nickel silver was used for the outer slides of the tuning slides.
The third valve slide also features a trigger lever, and the first valve slide has a base for attaching a lyre (music clip).


●Finish: Clear lacquer finish, which best showcases brass instruments.
The sound has a quick attack and a clear tone.


●Main tube: The main tube is the type where the pitch is adjusted by inserting and removing the mouthpiece pipe.
The mouthpiece receiver is made of nickel silver.
This makes it easier for the performer to grasp the sweet spot of the sound.


●The outer tubes of the tuning slides are made of highly durable nickel silver.
The third valve slide features a trigger lever that allows for quick pitch correction.


●The wide first valve slide, characteristic of the lower spring, produces a soft and sweet tone typical of a flugelhorn.
To maximize its effect, red brass is used as the material.
A stand for attaching a lyre (music clip) is also included. (Note: J Michael does not sell lyres.)


●Bell: A bell that produces a deep, mellow tone.
The material used is yellow brass, which has a slightly brighter tone, taking into consideration the possibility of switching from the trumpet.
The Bell Curling uses a non-wired beat that makes it easy for beginners to monitor their own sound.


●Piston: The piston is made of highly durable stainless steel.
The combination of a lightweight piston button and a stainless steel spring creates a smooth and responsive action.
Furthermore, lightweight types are used for the cap screws and bottom screws.
It improves pronunciation response and contributes to a brilliant sound.


●Case: A lightweight, easy-to-carry semi-hard case.
It comes with a detachable strap, allowing it to be carried over the shoulder.
The zipper is made by the reliable YKK.
