Description
Description
The legendary Fuzz Face effect pedal is not only used by legendary artists, but its sound is still sought after in a variety of scenes, as evidenced by the numerous reissues and inspired models produced.
Judging from the potentiometer date, this particular unit was shipped around 1972, but the chassis and circuitry still retain strong traces of earlier specifications, making it an interesting unit. Consumable parts such as the switches, volume pot, back panel, control knobs, and battery snaps have been replaced, indicating that it has been well-loved. The back panel screw holder has deteriorated, and the screws are currently missing.
The transistors are two Telefunken BC108C (one appears to have been replaced). The gold sprag capacitors are a nice touch, being a slightly older specification. The tone is thick when switched on, and as you increase the fuzz, it gradually becomes rougher, but still retains its thickness, making this a great unit.
