FAQ

Description

A large-diaphragm condenser microphone with exceptional sound quality and multiple patterns.
At first glance, the LCT640TS appears to be a new condenser microphone added to Lewitt's lineup, but it's an innovative microphone that allows you to change the polar pattern after recording, and it has the potential to change the very concept of recording.

The LCT640TS features two diaphragms positioned front and back, allowing for independent output of the picked-up sound for recording. Furthermore, it seamlessly switches from omnidirectional to bidirectional after recording, and its direction can be changed by 180°. This unique feature allows for increasing ambient sound levels after recording, enabling innovative stereo recording techniques, and recording duets facing each other.

In addition, by positioning the microphone with its side facing the sound source, Mid Side (MS) stereo recording is possible using only the LCT640TS. The front microphone acts as the left channel (L) and the rear microphone acts as the right channel (R). Summing both signals together creates the mid channel. The easiest way to achieve this is to input the signal as a stereo track in your DAW and control the stereo width.

In addition, it comes bundled with the newly developed Polarizer plugin. This plugin allows for seamless control of the microphone's directivity during the mixing stage. Polarizer is compatible with major formats (VST, AU, AAX) and Mac & Windows. Directivity can also be controlled manually in your DAW or mixing console. The LCT640TS is a microphone that inherits the basic performance of the Lewitt FET large-diaphragm flagship LCT640, but allows you to manipulate its directivity as if it were a time machine.

Features

1. Features an ultra-thin (3 micron) gold-layered low-mass diaphragm for faithful transient capture. Flat frequency response for natural and authentic sound quality. Dual diaphragms allow for MS recording or duets with singers facing each other using a single microphone. Five preset polar patterns from cardioid to bidirectional, plus intermediate characteristics can be set. The microphone's polarity can be reversed 180° after recording. Dual output is possible via the included mini XLR. A Polarizer plugin is bundled for seamless control of the microphone's polarity during the mixing stage. Mac & Windows (VST, AU, AAX) compatible. Push buttons for quick and noiseless control of attenuation and high-pass filter. Features a 4-position attenuation pad (0 dB, 6 dB, 12 dB, 18 dB) and 4-position high-pass filter for handling high sound pressure levels. Illuminated user interface for excellent operability even in dark environments. Durable zinc die-cast body. Internal shock mount to reduce microphone noise. Rustproof gold-plated 3-pin XLR output connector. Includes dedicated military-grade case, LCT 40 SHx shock mount, LCT40-Wx windshield, LCT 40 PSx pop filter, and DTP 40 Lb leather bag.
