Description
Description
Sago, believing that "Kabuki embodies the rock spirit passed down through generations in Japan," has fused it with Prime Edge, the most rock-concept-driven model in their lineup.
This guitar features a compact body equipped with humbuckers, ensuring ample output while offering a wide range of sound shaping possibilities thanks to Sago's original SPAEQ3 preamp's 3-band equalizer and a mid-frequency selector switch. The body is made of thermo-treated alder wood, resulting in a clear tone with excellent projection, a mellow nuance reminiscent of vintage instruments, and a tight, crisp sound where each note lingers beautifully in the ear.
The body is painted using the Kumadori technique, a distinctive makeup style used in Kabuki theater, and finished in "red," the color used for characters representing courage, justice, and strength. Furthermore, red LEDs are installed as position markers on the top of the fretboard.
Thermowood is a technology developed in Finland that artificially ages wood by applying a special high-temperature treatment at temperatures exceeding 200°C, which would normally cause it to burn. Although it was originally developed in the field of architecture, it offers many advantages for musical instruments as well. The most effective advantage for musical instruments is "dimensional stability." Japan has high humidity, which is not an ideal climate for musical instruments, but thermo-treated wood has reduced moisture absorption and release capabilities, resulting in a reduction of the wood's expansion and contraction rate to about half that of raw wood. In other words, using thermowood makes it less susceptible to the effects of humidity.
Furthermore, not only the climate, but also the environment inside your home or car, the spotlights and the heat from people at live venues, and other factors greatly affect the condition of your instrument. From this perspective, using it for the neck material allows you to maintain a stable condition even under harsh conditions, leading to stress-free playing. Regarding the sound, as wood ages, the cellulose and resin components decrease, and ThermoWood has the characteristic of producing a similar effect. While it cannot reproduce the sound of a vintage instrument in its entirety, it can intentionally approach a vintage, aged sound.
The included hard case is white, and may have some scratches or dents due to transportation or exhibition at events, but this does not affect normal use.
