Description

The FG/FS Red Label Series is a modern evolution of the original Yamaha folk guitar, the Red Label.

YAMAHA FG / FS Red Label

Since the release of the "FG180," affectionately known as the "Red Label," in 1966, Yamaha has offered a wide lineup of folk guitars, from entry-level to professional models, beloved by many players. The newly released "FG/FS Red Label Series" is a long-awaited new series for Yamaha fans, following the design philosophy of the FG, tailored to Japanese tastes, while pursuing a sound and modern design that suits the contemporary music scene.

The sound characteristics of this new ``FG/FS Red Label Series'' are characterized by a newly designed bracing that has been repeatedly improved through a combination of pseudo-prototypes utilizing the latest acoustic analysis simulation technology and a woodworking prototyping process. This allows for the natural resonance and sound characteristics of the mid-low range to be maintained while further improving the low-range resonance, resulting in a natural acoustic guitar sound.

In addition to the non-pickup models, the series also includes an electric acoustic guitar equipped with the newly developed "Atmosfeel" pickup system. This new pickup system utilizes the characteristics of collecting high frequencies obtained from the vibration of the guitar's top plate, reproducing guitar sound components that conventional pickups cannot pick up with natural nuances, allowing you to express the true sound of an acoustic guitar on stage.

This "FGX3" is a popular model in the "FG/FS Red Label Series." It features Atmosfeel pickups and a Western-style body shape.

Key Features: 1. A design reminiscent of the classic FG. The traditional V-shaped headstock features Yamaha's signature tuning fork logo. The FG's trademark truss rod cover is engraved with the year 1966, marking the origin of the Yamaha folk guitar, creating an appearance reminiscent of the classic FG. A newly developed semi-gloss finish adds a vintage touch. The smooth feel and comfortable neck shape ensure excellent playability. Details like open-gear tuning machines and a woodgrain pickguard complement the simple yet timeless design.

■2. Acoustic analysis optimizes the sound for each body shape. The FG/FS Red Label Series features an all-solid construction with a Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides. The top features our proprietary Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (ARE) wood modification technology, which produces the same changes as wood aged over time. Even though they're brand new, they deliver a rich, seasoned sound, with the warmth and powerful resonance of mahogany's unique mid-low range. The bracing, developed through a prototyping process incorporating the latest acoustic simulations, features a unique scalloped finish for each FG and FS body shape. Furthermore, sound adjustments are made to each body shape to optimize the sound for each model. By combining the latest acoustic simulations with expert craftsmanship, improvements are made in both sound and quality, resulting in the new FG and FS models.

■3. Newly Developed Atmosfeel Pickup System The pickups of the "FGX" and "FSX" are equipped with the newly developed 3-way hybrid Atmosfeel system. Atmosfeel utilizes a contact sensor made of thin, durable piezoelectric synthetic paper to capture high-frequency sounds obtained from the vibrations of the guitar's top, reproducing guitar sound components that conventional pickups cannot pick up with natural nuance. The under-saddle pickup captures the vibrations of the strings, the condenser microphone mounted inside the body captures the air inside the guitar body, and the contact sensor pickup on the underside of the top captures the sound of the top. By combining these three sounds, the guitar's natural acoustic sound is reproduced to the fullest.

■4. A wide range of eight models to choose from. The "FG/FS Red Label Series" offers eight models with two body styles and electronics options. The "FG" features a traditional Western body, boasting a rich bass range perfect for powerful stroke playing, while the "FS" boasts a small body size with a rich, full sound. Both the "FG" and "FS" series feature a 634mm scale length and a comfortable neck shape for superior playability. Electric and acoustic models are also available, allowing you to choose the model that best suits your preferences and needs. The #5 grade (FG5, FS5, FGX5, FSX5) is a Made in Japan model, crafted by skilled craftsmen in Japan.

As for the condition, there is some wear and tear, but there are no major scratches or other noticeable damage, and it is in relatively good condition.
The neck is in good condition and can be used without any problems.
