MID BOOST, OVERDRIVE AND VINTAGE STUDIO MOJO

A mid-booster and drive pedal featuring a vintage Paltec-type studio EQ.
In addition to a mid-range boost, it features a high-frequency cut control, enabling a wider range of sound shaping possibilities.

The M-EQ DRIVER is a mid-booster and drive pedal designed based on the musical equalization of vintage Pultec studio EQs.
This legendary passive EQ from the 1950s is still sought after in professional settings today, boasting a highly musical and versatile EQ curve and a unique design that overdrives a push-pull output stage, its sound heard on thousands of hit records.
Instead of creating an exact replica, ORIGIN EFFECTS decided to reimagine this classic studio gear as a compact pedal for guitar.
It delivers a hard, half-cocked wah distortion with perfect mid-boost, studio-quality saturation, and a tube-like output stage.
By adding an adaptive circuit, we succeeded in controlling the response of the M-EQ DRIVER and consistently producing a unique character with high precision.

Main features
Designed based on 1950s Pultec studio EQs, it features: Selectable mid-boost frequency, Adaptive cut control that changes response according to dynamics, Transformer-equipped circuitry, Tube-like push-pull output stage, Ultra-high input impedance, High-quality buffered bypass, Premium components from the enclosure to the parts, Designed, manufactured in the UK.

The original Pultec studio EQ is famous for having some of the most natural and musical EQ curves.
ORIGIN EFFECTS recreates the timeless operation of passive EQs and optimizes it for electric guitars.
To ensure that only the right parts of the guitar signal are being boosted, the M-EQ DRIVER allows you to select a mid-boost frequency from three options: 0.8, 1.0, and 1.3 (kHz). (The unit KCS indicated on the unit refers to the former kilocycles per second.)

This versatile mid-boost not only guarantees compatibility with all types of guitars, but by pushing it harder, it can unlock a range of saturation from classic mid-boost overdrive to ferocious, resonant distortion tones.
The carefully developed transformer-equipped circuit faithfully reproduces the sonic characteristics of the original vintage Pultec studio EQ, adding rich harmonics to the sound.

When used in combination with the MIDS knob and DRIVE control, it allows you to balance mid-boost and overdrive while providing just the right amount of mid-emphasis to your clean or overdrive tone.

ORIGIN EFFECTS adds something new to this classic design by equipping the M-EQ DRIVER with adaptive circuitry and adding a CUT control.

Based on the high-frequency attenuation range of Pultec studio EQs, the M-EQ DRIVER's CUT control gradually cuts the high frequencies as the treble increases. When the ADAPT switch is turned on, this high-end roll-off decreases as the pedal cleans up, allowing for a smooth transition from warm overdrive to bright clean tones by adjusting the guitar's volume knob or adding dynamics to your playing.
