Description
Description
This is a Jazz Bass that was shipped around 1972. It is a natural finish/ash body, a custom color option that was added in 1972. It features black block position marks and neck binding, a special edition only available at this time.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 4.9 kg. The body is made of ash. The finish is the "Fender Thick-Skin High-Gloss" finish, unique to this period, and has a natural finish that highlights the beautiful grain of the ash. There are some minor dents and tarnish, weathering throughout, and tarnish on the pickguard and metal parts, but considering the age of the guitar, it is in relatively good condition. All metal parts are included.
【neck】
The neck and fingerboard are made of one-piece maple. The black block position marks and neck binding are the highlights of this bass. While there is some weather checking around the block, minor dents, and tarnish on the metal parts, the guitar remains in relatively good condition, just like the body. The tuners are slightly inconsistent in terms of tightness, but they still function properly. While there is some wear near the low frets, there's no excessive choking or choking, and playability is excellent. The headstock is 15.3mm thick, and the nut width is 38.4mm. The neck profile is sturdy despite the narrow width typical of an A-neck.
[Electrical system]
The controls are standard Jazz Bass wiring (2 volume/1 tone). Consumable parts like the front volume pot and output jack have been replaced. The pickups are the original gray bobbin pickups, dated 1972, and are still in good condition. The ash body and one-piece maple neck combine to produce a fast attack and well-defined bass, with a moderate edge in the high-mids, creating a sound unique to '70s Jazz Bass. The front and rear volume controls offer a wide range of tones, from thick and supple to a crisp, bright sound that's perfect for slapping. The tone control responds well to the tone control, delivering a vintage-inspired tone with a mature finish.
