Bring the natural, rich sound of your acoustic guitar to the live stage

The next-generation acoustic-electric guitar preamp, the AD-2, delivers the natural, rich resonance of your acoustic guitar directly to your audience, even during stage performances. Its compact body houses a high-quality sound engine, and with simple operation—just turn the ACOUSTIC RESONANCE knob—it produces a sound that captures the warmth and brilliance of your acoustic guitar. It also features AMBIENCE, which adds studio-quality reverb specifically designed for acoustic guitar. It also offers essential stage tools, such as a LINE OUT for direct connection to a PA, a mute function for convenient tuning or guitar changes, and a NOTCH knob for suppressing feedback, allowing you to achieve the sound you're looking for.

◆Acoustic Resonance Restores Natural Resonance The sound of an acoustic guitar is created through the resonance of various parts, including the body, top, and strings. These resonances change in complex ways depending on playing style and picking nuances, resulting in a rich, warm acoustic sound. Piezo pickups typically found in acoustic-electric guitars are unable to fully capture this complex resonance. The AD-2's Acoustic Resonance function delivers a vivid, natural sound, as if you were playing an acoustic guitar right in front of you. With the turn of a single knob, you can control multiple internal parameters intricately intertwined, allowing you to achieve the best sound quality for any style, from delicate fingerpicking to dynamic strumming.

High-quality reverb optimized for acoustic guitar. Adding subtle reverb to a beautiful acoustic guitar tone enhances its depth and richness. Using a conventional reverb, achieving beautiful reverb while preserving the rich, natural sound of an acoustic guitar requires highly advanced settings. The AD-2's AMBIENCE function adds high-quality, studio-quality reverb specifically tuned for acoustic guitar. As with ACOUSTIC RESONANCE, simply turning the knobs adjusts the complex interplay of numerous internal parameters, adding a high-quality spaciousness while preserving the acoustic guitar's delicate tone.

◆Quick response to feedback A high-quality acoustic guitar sound is characterized by a wide range and deep resonance. However, trying to reproduce this sound on stage inevitably leads to the problem of feedback. Avoiding feedback requires the highly skilled skills of a PA engineer. The AD-2 features a dedicated notch filter that easily eliminates feedback by controlling only the frequency band that causes it. Simply turn the NOTCH knob to comfortably play your acoustic guitar in any live venue while maintaining its natural resonance.

Dedicated LINEOUT terminal that can be used as a DI
The AD-2 features two outputs: an OUTPUT jack for connecting to a guitar amp or stage monitor, and a LINE OUT jack for direct balanced connection to a PA, allowing you to adapt it to the acoustics of your live venue. The LINE OUT tone has been custom-tuned specifically for this purpose, providing the ideal line sound that combines core and overall balance. If you want to use reverb processing on the PA mixer side, you can output the AMBIENCE reverberation sound only to the OUTPUT, without outputting it to the LINE OUT. You can always achieve the optimal acoustics setting, depending on the size of the venue, the type of equipment, and whether or not an engineer is present, all with a single unit.
