This model reproduces the most popular specifications from the early 1960s, which were produced until 2009, and features the highly sought-after slab construction!
A Fender Custom Shop Export Model '60 Stratocaster (New Old Stock) is now available as a recommended, high-quality used item! It was manufactured in 2017.
This watch, with its Aged Olympic White color, makes a real statement!
The Fender Custom Shop is a section established in 1987 to create the finest guitars under the Fender brand, using carefully selected materials from the wood sourced by Fender and employing traditional handcrafting techniques and advanced manufacturing methods. Inheriting the long-standing tradition and technology of Fender, this section offers a lineup of truly top-of-the-line instruments, including one-of-a-kind models like the Masterbuilder Series, assembled by a limited number of staff.
Many of the tools used in their production are the same ones that were used back then. The instruments, created with the meticulous attention to detail of staff who are intimately familiar with Fender guitar know-how, boast the finest quality and sound to satisfy the player, and will become a reliable companion that you can cherish for a lifetime.
The Stratocaster, which debuted in 1954, initially featured an ash body and a one-piece maple neck. Around 1956, it adopted an alder body, and around 1959, a rosewood fingerboard. Through various specification changes, this 1960 style was born. This particular model is made in the 1960 specifications, after the adoption of the rosewood fingerboard. Produced for a short period from around 1959 to 1962, the slab rosewood specification is highly sought after in the vintage market. The flat bonding surface between the rosewood and the neck, combined with the high mass of the rosewood, results in a very mild and full sound.
Recently, custom shop models have been produced in limited quantities for that year only. The neck features a shallow fingerboard radius and mid-jumbo frets, making them player-spec. However, the 60ST that has just arrived retains the vintage specifications with a 7.25R fingerboard radius and thin, low vintage frets, making it the original spec model that everyone has been waiting for.
The body is made of carefully selected alder wood and finished with a thin layer of nitrocellulose lacquer. You can experience the rich natural resonance and the aging process that occurs with use. The neck has an Early 60s C-shape with a relatively slim neck grip. Even those with small hands can play comfortably with a firm grip. The position markers are made of clay dots, and attention to detail is not to be missed.
The neck grip has a satin tint finish, and the pickguard is a 3-ply mint green guard, creating a distinctive atmosphere unique to this period.
Even among Fender guitars known for their crisp acoustic sound, this model features a rosewood fretboard, resulting in a thicker tone. While relic models have a thicker, mellower sound, this model possesses an edge that relic models cannot replicate. The 5-way lever switch allows for the output of rich, glossy half-tones without any modifications.
Finished with a NOS (New Old Stock) finish, this is recommended for those who want to break it in and develop it from scratch through their own use!
Experience the undeniable sound crafted from carefully selected materials by the Fender Custom Shop!
We've just received some highly recommended, high-quality used items!
While there are some minor scratches, small paint imperfections, paint chips, jig marks from the manufacturing process, pick scratches on the pickguard, and some tarnishing on the parts, the overall appearance shows minimal signs of wear, making it a beautiful instrument! There are no issues with its current playability. We have performed a full maintenance and cleaning at our shop, so it is in excellent condition and ready to use.
The neck had a slight tendency to bounce upwards, so we leveled the frets to align the peaks. There are no issues with its current use. Approximately 90% of the frets remain. The nut is also in good working order for normal use. The truss rod is also in good working order for normal adjustments.
The electrical system has also been fully checked, so there are no problems with its operation.
The weight is approximately 3.63 kg. It has a balanced design that produces a solid, focused sound.
Accessories include a brown hard case, keys, certificate of authenticity, spec sheet, wrenches, and bridge cover.
The black file for storing certificates and spec sheets was not included at this time.
