This all-birch shell snare drum is a perfect match for the "YD9000AJ" signature drum set, which was manufactured in 2010 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Akira Jimbo's professional debut.
This snare drum, which directly inherits the concept of the YD9000AJ, possesses "amazing versatility," as commented Akira Jimbo, making it suitable for live performances, recordings, and all genres. It is a gem of a model, described as "both the origin and the culmination."

The real wood YD9000 I bought with club funds during my amateur days is still being played and cherished today. I recently reunited with it after more than 30 years, and I was captivated by its matured sound. As I celebrated my 30th anniversary as a professional, I wanted an instrument that I could continue playing for the next 30 years, even until I'm 80, and there was no other choice but the YD9000. It's both my starting point and my ultimate goal. Everything I look for in a drum set is here.

-Features an all-birch shell with a 60°/R3 bearing edge-
Featuring an all-birch shell, which can be considered the origin of Yamaha drums, the bearing edge uses the same edge angle (60°) and edge apex radius (R3) as the YD9000AJ. It is characterized by a rounded, full wood sound.

-Diameter: 14 inches / Depth: 5 inches-
The 5-inch depth is a perfect match for the "birch shell + one-piece lug" configuration, resulting in better responsiveness.

-Deep 2.7mm snare bed-
The snare bed depth is set to a deeper 2.7mm, allowing the snare wire to be more closely attached to the head.

-One Piece Rug-
The combination of a birch shell and one-piece lugs results in a balanced and tight sound.

-Real Wood 2010 Finish-
Similar to the signature drum set YD9000AJ, this drum set features the Real Wood 2010 finish, which recreates the YD9000 era's paint recipe using modern paints. The finish highlights the beautiful grain of the birch wood.

-Original Emblem-
The original "YD9000AJ The Snare" emblem has been attached to the shell.

With its simple structure, beautiful form, and timeless tone, this set is truly worthy of being called a classic, a timeless piece that will never lose its brilliance as times change.
The YD9000AJ The Snare was born, inheriting that concept entirely. It's both the origin and the culmination of that concept, possessing astonishing versatility. A magical instrument that shines brighter the more you use it.

We use DHL Express for shipping.
