Maton is a brand famous for being the long-time favorite of Tommy Emmanuel, considered one of the world's top acoustic guitar players.
This instrument, "PERFORMER," is a popular series from Maton that features a thinner body than the highly popular 808 series.

As is typical of Australian-made guitars, the wood materials consist of a bunya wood top, Queensland maple sides and back, a Queensland maple neck, and an ebony fingerboard and bridge.

The pickup system installed is Maton's original "AP5 Pro" dual system, which allows you to blend an under-saddle piezo and a condenser microphone!
The under-saddle piezo pickup employs a "parasitic type" piezo pickup, which has an independent pole piece for each string. Because it directly captures the vibration of each string, it can produce a clear, natural, and powerful output even with only the piezo pickup.
By blending this high-performance piezo pickup with a condenser microphone, we've achieved a superb line sound that retains the raw, natural feel of an acoustic guitar, balancing power and airiness. The condenser microphone is adjustable via a gooseneck, allowing for fine-tuning to achieve your desired sound and avoid feedback issues, which is a very welcome feature. Furthermore, to combat the feedback issues inherent in condenser microphones, a low-frequency filter has been applied, making it less prone to feedback even in loud band settings, ensuring comfortable use.
The preamp section allows you to control the volume of both the piezo and microphone pickups, as well as the overall volume with a master volume control and a 3-band EQ. This unique, high-performance system has earned immense trust and praise from many artists, whether solo or in a band.
