Descripción

A rare Dodgem Blue! Highly regarded as one of the three greatest guitarists of the new world.
A used John Mayer signature model has arrived!

The Silver Sky is a collaboration between Grammy Award-winning musician John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith Guitars. Having spent over two and a half years in production, the Silver Sky is inspired by vintage guitars that feel instantly familiar to the player, yet boasts a quality that can be described as a "newly designed PRS guitar" in every respect. Based on elements of 1963/1964 vintage guitars that John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith deeply cherish, it has been crafted into the ideal form of a vintage single-coil guitar.

While the headstock shape is based on PRS's trademark design, modifications have been made to accommodate John Mayer's playing style, such as offsetting the tuning pegs to ensure sufficient string length from the nut to the pegs and further enhance tuning stability. The tuners are traditional vintage-style closed-back type but feature a locking mechanism. The neck shape follows that of 1963/1964 vintage models, and the fingerboard radius is 7.25 inches, providing an authentic vintage feel from the moment you pick it up.

Like the tuners, the steel tremolo also retains a classic design, but is equipped with a PRS tremolo and GEN III knife-edge screws. The bridge is adjusted to sit flush against the body when tuned. This contact between the bridge and body improves the guitar's resonance and also enhances the signal-to-noise ratio of the single-coil pickups. The 635JM single-coil pickups are characterized by their mellow yet powerful sound.

Since 2020, the top coat applied after coloring the body has been gloss lacquer, resulting in a different texture and natural resonance compared to previous models.

This particular guitar is in player's condition. Upon removing the knobs, washers, and nuts, you'll notice circular scratches along the washers, as if a blade had been applied (these are not visible once the knobs are reattached). There are also minor dents, scratches, paint chips, and tarnishing on the parts. However, there are no issues affecting playability, including the neck condition and electronics, making it a guitar you can enjoy for many years to come. The Silver Sky, a challenging yet incredibly popular model within the PRS lineup, is definitely worth considering!

Manufactured in 2021. Includes documentation. Tremolo arm is missing. Includes Noah's Ark gig bag.
