MUSICMAN, founded by Leo Fender after his contract with CBS ended, continues to produce attractive instruments, even as the brand itself has changed ownership over time.

The Sabre series, which was released in 1978 along with the bass guitar, included a guitar version, the Sabre II, which was produced for several years. As can be seen from the manufacturer's origins, it is a model with materials and construction similar to Fender, featuring a white ash body and maple neck. This particular one is a 1978 model in sunburst color. Overall, it is in excellent condition.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.65 kg. The body material is listed as white ash in the catalog. The sunburst color, which brings out the beautiful wood grain, is lovely. One of its attractions is that it ensures solid sustain thanks to the heavy original bridge and string-through-body design. There are some minor dents and tarnishing on the metal and plastic parts, but the paint has a good sheen and it can be said to be in good condition considering its age.

【neck】
The neck is made of a single piece of maple. Like the body, it's in excellent condition, with only minor weather checking around the fretboard and some tarnishing on the metal parts. The tuners are original "MUSICMAN" logo tuners, and they function reliably with minimal winding variation. The frets and nut show minimal wear, resulting in excellent playability. The nut width is 40.2mm. The neck shape is relatively clean and streamlined.

[Electrical System]
The controls feature an active circuit with a 3-way pickup selector, master volume, treble tone, bass tone, bright switch, and phase mode switch. It's equipped with two of the familiar original humbucker pickups with double pole pieces. The pickups and control components are in their original condition.

The unique attack, combined with the wide range and high headroom characteristic of active circuitry, delivers a powerful and clear sound. By utilizing the bright switch and phase mode, it can handle a wide range of sounds, from sparkling cutting tones to sustained lead tones and punchy, funky sounds. This model boasts a rich and expressive sound.

We ship via FedEx. Shipments are fully insured against damage or loss during transit.
