In November 2025, Hartman Guitars Chief Akita visited the Eastman factory.
While on site, I was fortunate enough to come across a superb piece of "cocobolo," a rare wood that has become increasingly difficult to obtain in recent years, with its striking deep crimson color and beautiful sapwood.
This is an extremely rare material that you can't get your hands on just by visiting the factory; you might never come across it unless the timing is right.
This special selection project was made possible thanks to our close communication with Eastman & Beaujolais.

This instrument is a special edition "OMC" based on the "Signature/TS OM" from the "Touchstone Series," which combines Dana Bourgeois' design philosophy with high cost performance, and features a cutaway to improve access to the higher positions.
The "CTM Signature/TS OMC -Torrefied Sitka Spruce/Cocobolo-" has been completed, featuring a top made of carefully selected "Torrefied Alaskan Sitka Spruce" and sides and back made of "Cocobolo" with beautiful sapwood, a hallmark of selected wood.
The headplate (veneer) also uses the same cocobolo wood, and the head top, which is usually satin-finished, has been changed to a gloss finish to match the body. The simple styling, which deliberately omits the pickguard, is beautifully complemented by the elegant herringbone pattern, which combines three types of wood unique to the Signature model, resulting in a refined finish.

■ The deep sound pressure of cocobolo and the agile response of the torified top. Cocobolo is said to have acoustic properties similar to jacaranda (Brazilian rosewood), resulting in a dense, deep bass and clear high frequencies.
The heat-treated torrefied top, combined with the guitar's tone, creates a mature, resonant sound and quick response reminiscent of a vintage guitar that has been played for many years.

■ Pyramid bridge that responds to delicate touch and exceptional playability The bridge features a "pyramid bridge (TS specification)" that responds quickly to even the most delicate touch when playing fingerstyle.
The OM body, which is easy to handle and has excellent overall balance, is combined with a deep cutaway and pyramid bridge, allowing the player's subtle nuances to be fully expressed and transformed into a superb sound, from technical solo guitar playing that makes extensive use of the high frets to delicate accompaniment.
