// EASTMAN 52nd St.Model Series Tenor Saxophone ETS652GL //

From the 1930s to around 1950, New York's 52nd Street, centered around legendary jazz clubs, was a thriving hub of the cutting edge of the music scene. Named after 52nd Street, also affectionately known as "The Street" and "Swing Street," this is Eastman's most prestigious modern model, coveted by all saxophonists, extracting and reintegrating the essence of vintage saxophones from the 1920s to the 1970s. Its sound evokes the hustle and bustle of that era, the aroma of cigarette smoke, and the high-pitched introduction of the legendary MC Pee Wee Marquette.
The ETS652GL delivers a sound that is thick and powerful, yet also glossy, bright, expansive, and delicate.

■Large Bell: A larger bell flare that provides ample power to handle a variety of situations.

■ Nickel Silver Key Rods and Neck Sockets: Nickel silver, which has high torsional rigidity and wear resistance, is used for the long-shaft key rods and neck sockets, which are subjected to large torque during key operation.

■Two types of surface finishes are available. The surface finishes include one that replicates the look of a well-worn, unlacquered model by applying an oxide film treatment to a solid brass base, and a standard gold lacquer finish.

■Neck
The ETS652 features an M-type neck, supervised by Bob Mintzer, which has a wider bore than the S-type neck and an angle optimized for playing.

■Round-shaped key cups: Unlike the sharp, square key cups used in modern standard saxophones, these key cups have the same beautiful, rounded curves as vintage saxophones.

■Rolled Tone Holes: The rolled tone holes, commonly found on vintage American saxophones, have been reproduced using cutting-edge modern industrial technology. The pads now fit more closely to the tone holes, recreating the deep, resonant sound and comfortable key touch characteristic of instruments from that era.
