FAQ

Descripción

A single-cut body AZS format Tom Quayle signature model.

◆Maple & Alder, Single-Cut AZS shaped Body
The body, constructed from highly responsive maple (4mm) and alder known for its balanced, bright tone and rich sustain, features Ibanez's original AZS shape, aiming for a comfortable fit and contemporary design despite its single-cutaway form.

◆Seymour Duncan Magic Touch-mini / Alnico II Pro Custom pickups
The neck position features a Magic Touch-Mini mini-humbucking pickup with ample headroom, prioritizing ease of sound shaping by balancing responsiveness to picking nuances with a fat tone and sharpness. The bridge position is equipped with an Alnico II Pro Custom single-coil pickup that has a peak in the midrange, producing a warm, twangy tone and natural sustain.

◆Steel pickup mounting plate
The single-coil pickups are mounted using a plate-mount system (steel, Ibanez original), which is essential for a clear, fat, and twangy tone.

◆Non-recessed bridge cavity
The top surface of the body of the tremolo-equipped models is not recessed. Because the bridge plate and the guitar body are in direct contact, it features excellent reproduction of picking nuances and good resonance.

◆Gotoh T1802 tremolo bridge
This tremolo bridge is a collaboration between Ibanez and Gotoh, and is specifically designed for the AZ series.
First, the saddle is made of hard, machined titanium, which achieves both a quick attack and a solid, fat sound, while the inertia block uses machined steel, resulting in a distinctive extended high-frequency range.
The string spacing is a narrow 10.5mm, designed to make it easier to pick across strings, a feature demanded by players who frequently use string skipping and hybrid picking.

◆dyna-MIX with Alter switch
With a single flick of a mini-switch, you can freely switch between humbucker and single-coil modes, achieving a wide variety of sounds. It features a total of five sound variations.

◆Super All Access Neck Joint
The Super All Access neck joint features a stepped carving on the back of the body with an 8mm height difference, and the neck joint is finished with a spherical surface to achieve superior playability.
The cutaway on the bass string side is designed to be shallower, maximizing the contact area between the body and neck. This achieves both excellent playability and good sustain and resonance.

◆S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple neck, AZ Oval C neck shape
The neck is made of maple wood treated with S-Tech nitrogen heat treatment technology. S-Tech treated wood has characteristics such as shape stability, resistance to warping, water resistance, and resistance to temperature changes, and is a patented technology in Japan.
The neck features an Oval C shape, which is precisely and reliably reproduced using ball milling. The neck is shaped to gently curve down from the joint between the fretboard and neck to the edge of the fretboard, and the fretboard edge is rounded for a comfortable grip. The neck width is set at 42mm at the nut and 56.4mm at the last fret, with particular attention paid to ease of gripping in the lower fret area and playability in the classical style with the thumb placed on the back of the neck in the higher fret area.

◆Rosewood fretboard
With its balanced sound character, the rosewood fingerboard is characterized by its midrange response and warm tone. It's a choice that perfectly matches Tom's playing style and sound, which is suitable for a wide range of genres.
The fretboard radius is a compound radius, ranging from 228mmR at the nut to 305mmR at the end. This design balances ease of playing low chords with high playability in the higher frets.

◆Bone nut
We used oil-impregnated cow bone nuts.
This design significantly contributes to tuning stability by improving the smoothness of the strings and nut, as well as enhancing resonance.

◆Gotoh Magnum Lock machine heads w/HAP
It features Gotoh Magnum Lock machine heads, which are renowned for their tuning stability.
It features a HAP (Height Adjustable Post) mechanism, allowing you to adjust the post height and achieve the appropriate tension for each string.
