THE TRUMPET / The Trumpet vol.18

This issue's cover features Miles Davis, the "Emperor" of jazz, one of the most important figures in jazz history and a symbolic presence for the trumpet, whose 100th birthday and 35th death anniversary will be this year, 2026.
The opening cover story and the first feature article revisit and examine his great achievements from various angles.
The included downloadable audio tracks, linked to the special feature, are a selection of five Showa-era pop songs (one of which is a bonus track) that were hits in the 70s and 80s, a period also known as "New Music."
The exemplary performance was provided by Yoshihiro Uno, a rising jazz trumpeter who is active not only in live jazz performances but also in studio work and live support.
By utilizing the sheet music included in the magazine and the performance advice from Mr. Uno himself, you should be able to master these timeless classics from the Showa era.
Furthermore, you can download karaoke versions that meticulously reproduce the original sound sources, making it incredibly useful for showcasing your performance in various situations.
Also a must-read are "In Memory of Genzo Kitamura," a project conceived in response to the passing of Genzo Kitamura, former principal trumpeter of the NHK Symphony Orchestra and arguably the foremost legend in the Japanese trumpet world, and "Trumpet Case Collection," a lecture on choosing a trumpet case, a topic many people struggle with.
This issue is packed with articles that will thrill trumpet lovers! A must-have for any trumpet player!
