Justin Meldal-Johnsen signature model
Known as a true renaissance man of the contemporary music scene, Justin Meldal-Johnsen has performed with artists such as Beck, Nine Inch Nails, and Drake as a bassist, and has produced albums by Jimmy Eat World, Paramour, and M83. He continues to inspire others as one of today's leading multi-genre musicians and producers, breaking new ground.
The '67 Mustang Bass is Justin's favorite in the studio and on stage, and we collaborated with him to develop the unique four-string Justin Meldal-Johnsen Road Worn Mustang Bass, modeled after his beloved vintage Daphne Blue bass.
Featuring plenty of Fender magic, including custom-spec split-coil pickups, the JMJ Road Worn Mustang bass delivers punchy basslines. The 30" scale length delivers tight, articulate tone, while the modern 9.5"-radius fingerboard with rolled edges provides a comfortable playing feel for any bassist.
This bass is designed for playability and speed, with stage-ready style. It features the blemishes and pick scratches on the body, as well as the worn-in look of the neck, all of which are etched in the history of the tour.
It has been relic-treated from the beginning, but the scratches and polish around the pickguard and endpin appear to have been added later. There are sticker marks on the back of the body.
There is ample room in the truss rod and the neck is in good condition.
It is set up with flat strings, giving it a warm sound.
