Custom Shop 2012 made 1964 Jazz Bass NOS!
With its commitment to wood and thorough quality control, the Fender Custom Shop is arguably the ultimate modern Fender. We've just received a 1964 Jazz Bass, crafted by the Fender Custom Shop, that combines refined specifications with vintage-inspired design.
The wood materials are an alder body, a carefully selected maple neck, a relatively dark rosewood fingerboard with rounded edges, and a U-shaped neck grip with just the right thickness, giving the instrument a firm, solid feel and a resilient tone. Picking produces a powerful, resonant sound, allowing you to fully experience the instrument's resonance. Its solid tone will support the bottom of an ensemble while also making a strong presence.
This Jazz Bass features Custom Shop Vintage pickups, offering a powerful yet tight resonance. Each pickup alone produces a wonderfully warm tone, with crisp mid- and high-range resonance for a well-balanced finish. The output from the speakers is a resilient, supple tone that resonates through the bass, while the rich, deep tone gives the impression of being played, creating a tone that truly embodies the essence of a Jazz Bass. The bridge has been replaced with a BADASS for a more direct attack. The strap pins have been replaced with Dunlop locking pins, making this a perfect instrument for stage performance.
Because it is lacquered, there are small scratches, dents, and chipped paint, but it can be used without any problems when playing.
The truss rod is a bit stiff to tighten, but there is still room for adjustment within the normal range.
