Based in Uppsala, Sweden, and headed by Ola Strandberg, Strandberg has gained popularity for its innovative designs and superior sound. From body shapes designed to fit a variety of playing styles and headless construction with original hardware, to the patented EndurNeck neck shape and multi-scale design, Strandberg's instruments are designed with innovative ideas to help performers achieve their best.
This Boden Bass Standard model features a lightweight American basswood body with a flame maple top, a roasted maple neck with carbon reinforcement, and a fingerboard with Luminlay™ luminous position marks for enhanced visibility even on dark stages. The electronics are equipped with Fishman Fluence pickups and an EQ system that are ideal for modern rock sounds.
The multi-scale design is adopted with consideration not only for the tension of each string and sound balance, but also for playability. The special trapezoidal "EndurNeck" neck shape, which differs from the conventional rounded neck grip, is gentle on the wrist and reduces stress when playing. The roasted maple neck provides high durability and a high-quality sound with a crisp, clear core.
The unique body design and neck shape are the polar opposite of traditional American instrument design, and could even be described as futuristic. However, the design is also ergonomically superior, taking into consideration not only the sound, reduced strain on the body, and playing feel, but also the player's mental state as important factors, resulting in a carefully crafted, high-quality instrument.
Its unique appearance may catch your eye, but its practicality and well-balanced playability and sound go beyond its visual impact. Rather than just reading about the specs or explanations, try holding and playing it once and you'll immediately understand its appeal.
This is a great choice for anyone looking for a high-quality instrument that stands out from the crowd!
